So what gifts (players) do you want for Christmas (draft)?
It's okay if you it's a wish list or a reality list. That's what Christmas is all about.
So let Santa (Jerry) hear what you want. :)

I like that, the draft is like Christmas. I don't know what specific players they need to do it but I'll take the following:

A dominating interior pass rush (JJ Watt, Aaron Donald, Chris Jones)
The Next Sean Lee at LB only healthier
The next Earl Thomas at safety
A lockdown Ballhawking CB that takes the opponents best receiver out of the game.
The next Tyron Smith at LT that can play OG until he gets hurt and or retires.

OP, you can just end the thread with this response. Gifts for days!!

Some of my pet cats

Patrick Surtain CB Alabama - Safe pick at #10.

Jaelan Phillips EDGE Miami - High risk high reward pass rusher.

Milton Williams DT Louisiana Tech - great testing numbers and could be a lump of clay that Quinn can mold.

OT Walker Little Stanford - Missed a lot of time but I think he can be our left tackle of the future.

Tutu Atwell WR Louisville - shifty speed receiver. Something different from our current group.

Tyler Shelvin DT LSU / Bobby Brown DT Texas A&M - both bring size and physical ability. I’d be thrilled to add one of them.

Monty Rice LB Georgia - We need linebackers and Quinn likes ‘em fast.

Jaylen Twyman DT Pitt - a very good pass rushing defensive tackle.

Divine Deablo S Virginia Tech - Maybe our Kam Chancellor?

Tommy Doyle OT Miami (OH) - Developmental swing tackle.

Shaka Toney EDGE Penn State - A potential LEO candidate

Derrick Barnes LB Purdue - versatile linebacker.

Darius Stills DT West Virginia

Alaric Jackson OT Iowa - A developmental tackle

I'm curious about Atwell. I saw the other night that McShay thinks he goes in the 1st. We seem to like Big 10 LB's so I have my eye on Barnes and the Iowa kid (Neimann).

Trevor Lawrence on a 5-year rookie deal for Dak and his 240 million deal, straight up
:flagwave:

Would never happen, but....

I’ll be shocked if McShay is right on that one. Teams are looking for the next Tyreek Hill (and so am I) but they’re not going to take a guy that small in round one. If they go, they can have him.

This guy should be available after the first round.

☆a CB...either surtain,horn,campbell or stokes.
☆a S...richie grant, ucf or one of the tcu kids.
☆2 DTs
☆2 LBs
☆alaric jackson,ot-iowa
☆daelin hayes,de-notre dame
☆a WR or RB who is an exceptional return man

As we remove the lights from the tree and finish the leftover turkey and dressing I'd like to come out of the draft with several things.

A corner with the ability to start. That's asking a lot in this league but Dallas did nothing about CB during free-agency. Not only do they need a corner, they need one who can come in and at least contribute serious minutes. I think there's 4-5 guys in this class that could possibly do that.

A long term answer or at least a long term attempt at free safety. Kazee may well be that guy and I like the player but he's coming off an injury and is only under contract for 1 year. I'd like to see another DB added to compete, push, backup, and learn from Kazee who's familiar with Quinn's defense. A guy like J. Holland who's versatile and also adds special teams value is the type of player I'd like.

A pass rusher and I don't care what flavor. Can never have too many and it's a position that takes time as we've seen from DLaw and Gregory. Guys who can work inside out like M. Williams and P. Turner. Guys who can play tough outside like C. Basham or R. Perkins. Guys who are standup rushers like Ossai or Tryon. I don't really care which, I just hope Dallas continues to develop pass rushers.

An offensive tackle in training. I'm more sold on T. Smith and L. Collins health than most on this board and chuckle at the idea of a Sewell or Slater even having a remote chance at beating either current tackle out of their starting position. With that said it's a deep tackle draft, I'm not leaving without one, and I've got time to bring him along. S. Brown, J. Ball, J. Hudson, and especially D. Smith are guys I could see being value picks on day 3 that just need some more time.

Linebacker. Dallas doesn't have enough and the players they do have are unreliable to this point. It's an important position that always needs good depth, use in sub packages, and special teams. I hope Dallas comes out of the draft with another LB, and one who has 3 down potential like a J. Davis, D. Moses, or P. Werner. If a LB has to be run off the field in certain passing or running downs I don't want him. Must be scheme versatile at the LB position.

I know a big space eating DT should be on this list, but I've never seen a DT crop like this one. It's awful. Zero first round grades from me, only 3 second round grades, and maybe 3-4 guys I'd spend a 3rd on. I know it's their biggest need but I refuse to reach for one. I'm seeing people mention guys like T. Shelvin in the 3rd who's a fat arse, didn't play in 2021, and didn't have much production prior to that. In my opinion reaching for guys like this purely out of need is a bad way to draft. It's a strong draft for DB's, LB's and tackles so I'm going to play to the strength of the draft.
