Yea, it's always nice to have the little neighborhood sociopath around to kill any harmless small animals that are hanging around.

If I've offended you, get over it.

Who are these "so many people" that you speak of?

I was watching Theyoungturks news video in it, they said it. Comments abound on all videos. I looked at news for it and some websites misinform that he went to the school just to deal with the squirrel.

Sigh.

The squirrel was "acting erratically" prior to the officer's arrival and then (for all intents and purposes) charged at the officer several times. What would you have him do, especially if there's the remote chance that it's rabid? Step on it? He wasn't spraying the thing because he thought it might be funny.

The bigger mistake he made was allowing those rugrats to even stay in the area, much less film him.

Squirrels typically do not carry around rabies.

Rabies and Squirrels: An Overview

Squirrels are almost never found to be infected with the rabies virus. Squirrels also have not been known to cause rabies in humans within the United States. Bites from a squirrel are not considered a risk for rabies unless the animal was sick or behaving in an unusual manner, and rabies is widespread in the area.

In all cases regarding rabies and squirrels, consult the state or local health department before making a decision to begin rabies treatment.

Not that I'd expect that officer to know that, but just a heads up to the people here saying it.

Interesting.

Over on the Maryland DNR, it also says that "[a squirrel] is subject to rabies; however, rabies in squirrels is very rare. Any squirrel that is exceedingly aggressive, lethargic, has trouble moving, or is immobile should be avoided."

Whether those are the symptoms of a rabid squirrel I don't know, but in general it's always a good idea to avoid nutty wildlife.

If you have your panties in a bunch because I took offense, get over it.

See how that works both ways?

Shouldn't those kids get arrested for taking videos of a policeman on the job??

What?

You realize there's a whole TV show that's dedicated to doing such a thing.

:lmao2:

Hell, there's even one with Steven Seagal.

What? It's illegal to film an officer. Of course if you have a TV contract then it's a little different.

It's a baby squirrel. Man up. If he does that to a 14 oz squirrel i'd hate to see what he'd do to a person.

You're kidding, right?

If not, it's PERFECTLY LEGAL to film the police. They film you every time they pull you over.

The difference is the police consent to those, and probably have control over the content.

It's where the people don't need anybody's consent to record that people have been arrested for it, if they record the police.

google 'arrested for recording police' or 'recording police wiretap'
