Ride the Lightning

Guilty as charged
But damn it, it ain't right
There's someone else controlling me
Death in the air
Strapped in the electric chair
This can't be happening to me

Who made you God to say?,
I'll take your life from you

Flash before my eyes
Now it's time to die
Burning in my brain
I can feel the pain

Wait for the sign
To flick the switch of death
It's the beginning of the end
Sweat, chilling cold
As I watch death unfold
Consciousness my only friend

My fingers grip with fear
What am I doing here?

Flash before my eyes
Now it's time to die
Burning in my brain
I can feel the flame

Someone help me
Oh please, God help me
They are trying to take it all away
I don't want to die

(SOLO)

Someone help me
Oh please, God help me
They are trying to take it all away
I don`t want to die

Time moving slow
The minutes seem like hours
The final curtain call I see
How true is this
Just get it over with
If this is true, just let it be

Wakened by a horrid scream
Freed from this frightening dream

Flash before my eyes
Now it's time to die
Burning in my brain
I can feel the flame

My all time favorite Metal band. I have seen them in concert in Dallas/Denver and Seattle.

Everything from the black album back was good...everything after the black album was horrid...except from some of their remakes of other artists songs.

Ahh...metallica just killed me when they put out that load album. I had it two days and sold it.

I stuck with them through Load and Reload, but St. Anger was the last straw. After No Leaf Clover and Minus Human on the S&M album, I thought they would return to a heavier style. Wrong. And to top it off, it sounded like someone recorded it in their basement.

I thought S&M was awesome, by the way, but 90% of the songs were "old-school" Metallica.

They have a new album coming out sometime this year. I might give it a listen, but I'm not holding my breath for a return to Metallica's roots.

At least Iced Earth's best singer returned to the band (Matt Barlow) or I would have no current metal bands to follow.

Well it must be that obvious.

They either ran out of good stuff or changed too much.

I cant listen to anything after Black either.

For Whom the Bells Tolls is another great song

I watched a special on metallica a while back about how they took some therapy to deal with anger. After that is when they started to suck. Basicly before therapy all their songs were done out of anger.

Metallica began to suck when they ceased to be Alcoholica lol

I like songs off of Load and Reload but I listened to St. Anger once and only once.

I :laugh2: when I read over the song lists on a new Motorhead album, because I know exactly how the chorus will sound without even hearing it. They are like the vocal equivalent of AC/DC in that respect.

But they do put out good tunes and good shows. I've had the pleasure of seeing them live twice.

Of course, the opening band for one of those shows was by far the worst band I've seen live, so there's also that. :bang2:

From the quotes on the Wikipedia page, it looks like it might be good:

Disagree -- the remake of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' Loverman sucked. Although hats off for their broad musical tastes.

 ...IMHO Iron Maiden is sooo far...they are better in all the ways and they are more credible then the Damage inc. :D

Looking forward to see them live once again with the Egiyptian Tour here in Italy in June...it will be my 16th time since 1986!!!

Did anyone see the preview USA show or will go to the next in May or June?

I love old metallica and old maiden.

They each have their talents (or in metallica...had) in their specific genres and each good at what they do.

Nothing wrong with liking both.

I completely agree.

You CAN argue that one is better(was better)... but why bother.. BOTH put out some MEGA songs in their history.

I will say... based on what someone posted about their mental history and therapy.... the cover of Bob Segar's "Turn the Page" would have been SOOOOO MUCH BETTER pre-therapy days... it just lacked the OLD Metallica bite!

I was jokin' :p: I like old metallica too, and maybe I'll go to see them too in july, but it's a joke 'cause I'm a Maiden fanatic and my girlfriend is a true (old?) Metallica fan...so it's just a...rivalry :D

Oh don't get me started on them. The first time I ever saw them they opened for Metallica. After that, my life hasn't been the same. :D
