Meyer going to NFL? Believe it, numbskulls

I think it is safe to say Spurrier has already instructed him what a nightmare job that is.

hit the nail on the head.
And, anyway, NFL history has shown that coaches with the first name of urban cannot succeed in the NFL.

If the Cowboys were in a rebuilding mode so to say, then I would say go for it, give him a couple years and he would probably be a great NFL coach. But in Dallas and more in Washington, he would have to be a "win now" coach, and that wont work.

Theogt just owned Freeman.

What's weird about this article is that he acts like he knows something. But in all likelihood merely the same old game of connecting the candidate to the highest-profile team in the league. Yawn.

And Ferentz has NFL experience.

The other name out of the college ranks that might make the jump is Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh can be a winner in the NFL, IMO. I'd rather have him than Meyer. I'd rather have just about any NFL coach over a college coach. Besides it's hard not to be able to be successful at Florida. Most of the best of the state's athletes go there. Way big advantage.

I agree. A smart guy, who seems to be a great manager, understands the pro game, and has an edge to him.

I honestly don't think Urban is even going to leave the college ranks for the pros. I don't know why but I just get this feeling that he's going to be one of those college for life coaches.

Wow, where to start???

So who is going to run our 3-4 defense when Wade is shown the door??? I dont see Meyer keeping Garrett either, so we are going to install a brand new offensive system???

We are most likely winning the division, so I have to ask when was the last time a division champion fired their Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, and Offensive Coordinator???

This whole scenario is just laughable to even think about, noway in hell this happens. If for no other reason than Jerry is not letting his boy Garrett walk out the door, he is "in the family portriat" according to Jerry.

Isn't this the same keyboard jockey that said the Commanders were the best team in the NFC East three weeks ago?

This thread is garbage! Meyer will not leave Florida for the NFL..PERIOD!!!

In all fairness, Meyer had plenty of success before ever going to Florida....but yeah, it is very easy to recruit there.

Excerpts from past Mike Freeman articles:

The guy has written three articles about the Cowboys for CBS. All three he's tried his best to be snarky and put down the Cowboys. In all three he looks like a boob.

hey, don't disparage boobs! boobs look good. :)busty:)

this guy looks like an (CENSORED).

I rarely wish I was blind after reading an article.

This was one of those times.

I think there is guys in College that could work but the guys who are being brought up are guys that dont translate to the NFL systematically.

Urban Meyer is a guy who doesn't fit systematically.

Someone like Les Miles would probably be a terrific NFL Head Coach.

Uh, perhaps because he has been an NFL coach.

Guys don't go into the NFL with no NFL experience than become good coaches very often. It happened with Jimmy but it took a bit of time and an NFL offensive coordinator.

Jimmy Johnson didn't seem to have an issue.

The thing about Meyer that Freeman correctly points out is that he's well-respected in NFL circles. Of the big name college coaches that could go to the NFL (Carroll, Stoops), he is the most equipped.

Carroll already proved he is a terrible NFL head Coach
