Sorry my friend, but I don't see how Micah not having a helmet would have kept Fournette from hitting him in the head. Fear of reprisal, maybe, but other than that, I don't think he would have changed a thing.

(That's assuming I'm right about it being a hit to the head/face.)

Personally, I don't think he was targeting the head. He was just chipping. We've seen literally the same move hundreds of times. I've never really liked the hit to the head stuff they call on defenders because it puts the onus on the tackler to know how the ball carrier is going to react. Similarly, I don't think Fournette could anticipate that Parsons' head would drop to where his shoulder was going.

I’m sure that all week the running backs and te’s were coached to find #11 and help out the tackles, just doing his job.

They're different and it's not to the level of football, saying their tougher is an opinion.because we go out back and play football with no pads doesn't make us tougher
How old are you guys? Last I played was in my late 20’s. Maybe early 30’s. Damn those were fun times, but I don’t think my body could take it these days. I’d likely try though.

What time is next game and where?

Also- don't apologize for disagreeing. The hell is that?

It would change the culture of helmet to (pick a spot) hits.
Hits to the face should already be a penalty but the offense has all the leverage.

are you legit asking this question in a serious capacity, or in a hyper defensive way because you are attributing a position to me that you want to shadow box with? to reiterate, my position is of consistency and lack there of in the league slanted to the offense. If defender launched himself in that way to make a hit, 9/10 out of ten they are going to call it. They aren't going to get the benefit of the doubt. Protecting players is more about protecting the offense because they draw the money and they kinda have a point. If Parsons goes down, it's a huge blow but not the end of the season but Dak going down it effectively feels like the seasons already over.

Launching only applies to a player who's the recipient of a crackback block or is in a "defenseless posture" per the rules, and there are 11 of those. None have to do with a chip block while a defender is already engaged. So there are only certain situations where launching is an issue and this play ain't one of them. Further, this doesn't even reach the definition of launching by the rules because Fournette was on the ground during impact. If you are saying this should be added to defenseless posture then fine but defenseless posture applies to offense and defense. Let's not forget CeeDee Lamb getting fined for a crackback block on a DB last season. So the offense hardly "gets away with murder" as you stated.

I don’t fault Fournette AT ALL! He’s a tough football player, and IMHO, he was just doing his job. That said, we all KNOW (except for stupid people, or those with an agenda), that if their pass rusher was engaged with Smith, and Elliott had tattooed him like that, flags most definitely would have flown. GUARANTEED!

Lol. Agenda, you say?

We’ve got the softest fans.

That was not a “blind side” shot.

What Golden Tate did to Sean Lee was a crack back blindside shot.

If that was Zeke leveling Devin White our fans would be heeeeehawwwing.

Shuddup.
Of course we would, but they would have flagged Zeke, too!

Can you point to 1 time a player was ever flagged for a chip block?

I don’t catalogue blocking videos for future evidence. Justifying my opinion to internet strangers is rather low on my priority list. My opinion remains—Zeke would’ve been flagged.

A simple, "no," would've sufficed.

Name ONE player that had their helmet fall off, ripped off etc.. that got a head injury.

Lol, you serious are you serious this is a foolish question, getting you helmet ripped off for short play vs playing without a helmet for a game is no where near the same...smh

They're not as big and fast.

Maybe not as fast but a lot of them are pretty big boys. They're not playing in 6 second bursts with 40 seconds of rest so you're not going to see the fatties like we do in the NFL, but there are some hosses out there.

Austrailian rules and Rugby are tough but much diferent kinda impact going on....Broken noses and such are common from how they go about it....But there are few 250+ pound 4.9 speed guys in either sport. Imagine Derrick Henry out there if he had that kind of Cardio.....

I get where Micah and Von are pissed, but they need to stop complaining on social media and take it to the league office, because right now it's a legal block. That said, it's still a cheap shot. Fournette had the option of engaging with Parsons from the side and sealing him off without blowing him up when he was clearly already engaged and not expecting the shot. It's very similar to the Golden Tate block on Sean Lee, which is illegal.

So yeah, it's legal for now, but it's definitely cheap.
