I love learning from the older generation
What would you say LT does or did better than parsons does now? Of course longevity etc. Aside
What part of LT' game is better than parsons. Highlights just show sacks etc...
I'd say that LT was bigger and stronger while Parsons is mor fluid and athletic.

This is just a matter of degree. They both are all of the above.

If he doesn't win DPOY this year I don't know what I'll do. I'm so tired of the DPOY going to the player with the most sacks. That should never be the default for that award. Sacks are nice but impacting the entire game on defense on a weekly basis is the measure of a true great defensive player.

There have been great D players in history. LT was special and so was Thomas. Parsons is something else, he is already building his room in Canton.

We can go ahead and make the LT comparison. Teams are having to scheme their entire pass protection around him.

So you cant add? Thats troubling.
Luulz, clearly you can't. Go ahead, show the numbers in the first two seasons. Oh nooo!!! Parsons only played in two more games than Thomas. You're right.

Just take the L and shuddup.

I’m not sure either is a fair comparison. Micah lines up at different positions. He’s not a straight up linebacker. I’ve never seen someone disrupt every play like he does. Other guys are piling up sacks because of his presence. He might not end up with the shiniest stats because it usually takes at least 2 guys to stop him.

Was watching the game at Gillete stadium, friends are pats fans...

one older gentleman says this " this parsons kid teminds me so much of the late Derek Thomas" .... I yell out " new LT"

old guy says " he might well become a LT if he keeps this up, just quite not there yet , but being compared to Derek Thomas so early is no knock at all! ""

So for those of you who saw DT play, do you agree? I will you tube some of his highlights.
If you have the #1 pick and you magically know the pick will turn out to be exactly like Derrick Thomas, you use the first pick on that player every time.

Ok just watched the whole 1st quarter of giants defense of week 5 1984 season. Just picked a random game.
Holy freaking crap !!!! If micah is compared to this monster Lt. Just being mentioned in the same sentence I will take it !!!
This bad *** has literally been in every damn running and passing play except for 2. Freaking incredible monster. Screw sacks, this guy has triple teams on him. Wow. Strong and fast. Smart as all he'll too. Reads plays perfectly. Maybe that is the only difference, micah will do that with .ore time.
This LT. Dude reads a play like nothing I've watched.

Parsons bulked up and is probably around 255. Even last season, he was bigger than LT who’s listed at 237 pounds. Both are listed at 6‘3“.

A bit off topic, but if you want to talk about record setting pass rushers, Cowboys DE Harvey Martin in 1977 deserves mention.

Sacks were not official, but he had 23 in 14 games, AND in an era offenses ran more than threw. If Martin played a 17 game season back then he might have come close to 30 sacks. Let that sink in.
