Great play means big money. Get over it. It isn't yours. They will find a way. In this Era teams are always having to find ways to build around their superstars. Tons of players this year went to new teams because their old team had to make choices.

The it isn't your money defense may be the single dumbest fan mantra I've ever heard.

What if Hooker played special teams and got flagged for illegal contact on Dicker?

Not a penal-ty if they play at Las Vegas.

You just know a ref is dying to say, "Roughing the Dicker, I mean kicker..."

I've read a lot of your posts. There is a lot of really dumb stuff...I just ignore it. People get so wrapped up in money that isn't theirs. Who cares what they make? The system is set up the way it is and fans really have no say individually and barely any as a group.

It's a pretty simple concept. If a guy shows he is the best player in the league....he is gonna get paid as the best player in the league, whether it is with us or with someone else. In his first year and a half, he looks like a generational talent. If we have to pay to keep that, so be it. I think it is really stuopid that fans are worried about something that is at least a year or two away. So much will change over that time. Each year about 15 to 20 players will be gone. If we have to say goodbye to Zeke or Dak in order to keep the best player in the league, I'll wish them luck wherever they go.

The problem comes when you sign a player that isn't a generational talent to top tier money. LIke the Cowboys did with Dak. Or with Cooper. Or in Zeke's case, at position where players can easily be replaced.

Now he's trying to make it seem less dumb.

The funniest part about it is you are saying woe is me about paying Parsons when it's time....and lamenting the fact that we might have to get rid of some of our crappy contracts to do it. The great majority of posters here have been trying to get rid of guys like LVE, Tank, Brown, Zeke, Schultz, etc. It will work itself out.

Of course it is. Who wants to use huge cap space on one player? You do it because he's worth it but you'd rather have him cheap like now.

Can't have it both ways for more than a few years. If it was easy to hit on generational players every 2-3 years and just keep flipping them it would be great but that is pretty much an impossibility.

Hell, I would argue, it's already maxed out. Unless he suffers a serious injury, his floor will be Arron Donald's money.
To be honest, for all Dak critics who want him gone, Parsons's contract may do it, in 2024. It's the first year we can talk contract with him and the same year Dak's contract has an out. Jerry and Stephen may have a hard time paying both, especially if Dak's value escalates to $50M range.
Legit concern there.
The Cowboys are not the brightest bulb in the pack when it comes to contracts with their own players...

You're having a debate with yourself.

And here we are. In the middle of a season which has been remarkable over the last month. The defense is the best in the league, and it is led by a player that elevates the play of all around him.

The old adage is a high tide lifts all boats. Micah is the high tide on this defense.

So what is the conversation transpiring about this generational player?

He is greatness?
I've never seen a player like him outside of Lawrence Taylor?
This is the guy you build a championship around?

No!

It is about his salary three or more years from now.

Do you people actually like the games, or are you all a bunch of accountants?

I watch this team for enjoyment. Not to balance my checkbook.

I don't see CD getting that second contract here. He hasn't lived up to the first round pick status and certainly is no #1 WR. If we can get away with paying him slot wr money, maybe. I don't see a big contract.
That’s good he needs to leave bc the fans don’t seem to credit him for making the plays he makes. They turn around and criticize his drops then eat their words for a day or less then back to how he’s not a number 1. He’ll get #1 money maybe not here, regardless he will get it somewhere.

Far eclipsed by the, "If we hadn't overspent for that player, they could have done X, Y, and Z with the money, when in 26 years they have never done X, Y, and Z because of this front office."

Which sort of makes your point moot.

"You should be okay with them spending too much on a player because they probably wouldn't have used that money any better anyway."

And he thinks he nailed that.

I think the history of this team suggests they spend money illogically. The hopes of the whining fan who complains about money disregards the fact the team has a quarter of a century track record of mismanagement of funds. The position of the fan that if you don't give a player a raise - and I cite this thread and others that speak about trading Parsons - then you can use those funds to bring in quality replacements.

There is no probably involved in the history of this team spending and talent acquisition.

One last point. You may speak directly to me and not the sycophants that drool at your every whim.
