Diggs will not be far behind him either.

I wouldn't pay Diggs nearly the money Micah's gonna get. Diggs is a Riverboat Gambler ...he'll get a pick, but he will also get burnt on double moves and undercutting routes with no help behind him. I will say Diggs tackling is picking up which is refreshing because for a while there he made Dion Sanders look like Ronnie Lott in comparison to him!

Hell, I would argue, it's already maxed out. Unless he suffers a serious injury, his floor will be Arron Donald's money.
To be honest, for all Dak critics who want him gone, Parsons's contract may do it, in 2024. It's the first year we can talk contract with him and the same year Dak's contract has an out. Jerry and Stephen may have a hard time paying both, especially if Dak's value escalates to $50M range.

The concern is that Dak's contract is designed in such a way that Dallas will have to extend Dak after this off-season to lessen his 2023 cap hit number of $49.1M. I would argue that Dallas should see what Dak does when he returns as everyone is saying Dallas has a Super Bowl level defense right now so if Dak can't do his part to elevate the team deep into the playoffs this season then do not rework his contract and get out of the deal after next season ($39M in dead money compared to $52M cap hit so a $32M savings for 2024 if designated a post June 1st release with $near $20M dead money in 2024).

Diggs is the clear #1 CB on Dallas with nobody even close to him so Dallas will have to pay him unless they find a #1 CB in the next few drafts.

We have him 3 more years....Zeke and Dak will probably be gone by then....hope we can keep Diggs with Zekes money and Micha with Daks money....Defense wins championships
Zeke maybe but not Dak. If Dak is gone, then the dream/window is closed

It could be a problem, with Prescott's cap hit going up every year and if Zeke and Lawrence are still around,it could be tricky.

We can get out of Dak's contract after the 2023 season, or extend him at that point. DLAW will be gone with the emergence of Dorrance and Sam Williams. You can't pay all those guys. So somebody has to go. Its likeley going to be DLAW and Zeke.

Whatever happens with this issue will say a lot about his future with the Cowboys......but keep in mind, Jerry and Stephen may want to extend/restructure but Dak may not. Remember, he betted on himself after the final year of his rookie deal.

If Dak can't get it done, he will be gone....I hope he gets it done and spends his entire career in Dallas....but, it's a business. If Micha is in his prime and still dominant it will probably come down to him or Dak....

Yes and Dak and his agent also refused a new contract during the 2020 which was reported to be a 5-year/$175M deal because they refused to allow Dallas to include a 5th year to the contract. If Dak doesn't get this team and Super Bowl caliber defense deep into the playoffs this season then perhaps it's time for the Jones' to get 'payback' per say by drafting a top quality QB in the first round next season and show Dak the writing is on the wall.

I think I would draft a QB instead of restructuring dak, he'll be over 30 by then, and if can't lead us to a SB this year or next,it's time to move on.. he's not going to be any better than he is right now..don't prolong it.

The new tv contract should be in by then. New cap should be able to accommodate both on our roster financially

Jerry hasn't drafted a QB in round 1 since Jimmy pulled the trigger on Aikman. We spent a 2nd on Quincy Carter. Romo was an UDFA. Dak was a 4th rounder. Thats like over 30 years of drafting. I'll be shocked if Jerry uses a premium pick on a QB anytime soon. He SHOULD but he never does.

Guys likely gone soon (unless Jerry does his traditional stupid extension):

Zeke Elliott 2023 cap hit $16.7M ($11.8M dead money remaining)

Demarcus Lawrence 2024 cap hit $16M ($9M dead money remaining)

Dak Prescott 2024 cap hit $52.1M ($39.9M dead money)

Michael Gallup 2024 cap hit $11.5M ($6M dead money)

Those are the bigger contracts that will impact the next few seasons. With guys like CeeDee Lamb (5th year option 2024), Micah Parsons (5th year option 2025), and Trevon Diggs (UFA 2024) coming up this Dallas team could very well look very different soon.

Zeke could be replaced by a combination of Pollard (UFA 2023) and another RB while DLaw will be replaced by Armstrong/Williams. Dak will be the biggest question mark as early talk is that the 2023 QB draft class could see as many as 5 QB's going in the 1st round.

I don't see CD getting that second contract here. He hasn't lived up to the first round pick status and certainly is no #1 WR. If we can get away with paying him slot wr money, maybe. I don't see a big contract.

The extensions Jerry does are the same extensions pretty much every team around the league does and it helped us be in "good" cap position this year. And, using them, we have a pretty good roster right now and even for the next year or two. There will be cheap replacements coming in through the draft that will counteract some of the bigger deals so I wouldn't complain too much about our cap.

Zeke is definitely a likely cut, but Pollard will probably make too much to resign as well. I'd look to the draft in the 2nd-4th round for big savings compared to our commitment now. Gallup likely isn't going anywhere and if Lawrence maintains his play, his hit isn't horrible. Money continues to go up, so there is that as well. Just a couple years ago Dak had the biggest deal, now he is closer to middle of the pack.

Great play means big money. Get over it. It isn't yours. They will find a way. In this Era teams are always having to find ways to build around their superstars. Tons of players this year went to new teams because their old team had to make choices.
