Micah on negotiating with Jerry

It’s interesting how Jerry has normalized the tag as the best way to handle a contract eligible star

fans of other teams don’t beg for their most talented players to get tagged because “it’s a business”.

Cowboys have used it 11 times, the most in the league.

The applicable metaphor is the one that says when the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

After decades of GM incompetence, you’d think people would question anything that Jerry does more than anyone in the league.

Snead has used it twice. Roseman once.

Jerry’s used it ten times since Snead and Roseman became GMs.

And don’t forget, Jerry is also the last GM to acquire a tagged free agent and it was 26 years ago. Since he did it, he probably thinks it’s a great idea and someone will waste two firsts on a free agent like did

1. Jerry wanted an injury guarantee- Jerry 1, Table guy 0
2. I don't blame Micah for wanting to be the highest paid, but don't pretend you did it for Hutch- Talbe guy .5, Jerry 0
3. Jerry wants all the power- So he should, it's his money- Jerry 2, Table guy .5
4. Micah is yet again injured, and long-term outlook = no good- Jerry and the Cowboys 3, Table guy .5
5. We got dogs for Micah, and Micah is a locker room problem- We win you lose, now you got a big bruise Table guy

The fact that Micah’s deal didn’t even make it a full year as being top AAV shows that he was.

Fans tend to be behind the curve when it comes to tracking the market because they want to get their players below market.
My reasoning isn’t just the money but more so the fact that he would get tired at the end of the season, was used incorrectly IMO, and didn’t stop the run when it went his way.

The real “brotherhood” is the owners, who collude with one another constantly to protect their interests.

As to “control”…

Do you not remember last year when Jerry, Stephen and even Charlotte, when on a media road show, including morning network mom TV, used the word “control” repeatedly?

All three of them did it.

I guess players need to just speak only when spoken to.
Nah, none of that. This doesn't have to be one side wrong, one side right. As I've said repeatedly, these are all big boys doing business. Nobody here is a poor, disadvantaged party. Both sides have very highly paid, top-level, intelligent representation. The owners can't do anything the players' union hasn't agreed to.

Not sure why this is so difficult.

Just an fyi

In 2024 Micah was the best graded run defender on the entire Cowboys defensive line and that included Tank and the incoming Kenny Clark.

He’s not a great run defender but people have used this to knock him like he’s as bad as Hendrickson.

Micah
2021: 59.9
2022: 73.2
2023: 68.1
2024: 65.5
2025: 69.3

Clark
2021: 54.7
2022: 53.0
2023: 61.2
2024: 57.1
2025: 53.7

What's the point in singling out 2024 and not including 2025 or not highlighting the other years? Your parsons propoganda is disgusting. Truly. And comparing a dt to an edge is beyond dumb but predictable coming from you.

Absolutely agree on this but for me his schtick was getting old. The laying down on the table really put me over him. Lets be honest. There is no bigger fan of Micah then Micah. He tried to tell Miles Garrett that he was better than him and Miles told him he also stopped the run putting him in his place. If you haven't seen that video I recommend watching it. It's hilarious. While we lost a damn good player I am not that sad to see him go because of how he carried himself. They could almost make him into a snickers commercial with the diva he was becoming IMO. I also understand those that miss him because he was a generational player as well.
Oh yea 100%. He is a very talented but equally immature kid.

Lol all yall please stop. Micah was everything we wanted and more. Jerry low balled Micah and the relationship went bad from there. Jerry still think it's the 90s negotiating as we see time and time again.

I definitely didnt want to trade MP, but it happened. Actually MP was cool with 5 years but the structure, knowing Jerry it probably was half guaranteed. 100 million for the 1st 3 years and backloaded.

We all know how Jerry negotiates but everyone mad at MP.

Once you lowball someone and wont give in, that's when MP started laying on tables, he wanted out and now we have no pass rusher and HOPE someone can rush the QB.

Because it we cant get to the QB like last year, it will be another long year

Does that include the RBs that ran right by him? Or the times when they ran right at him because he would only concentrate on getting to the QB?

Jerry should have gotten a deal done after Parsons' 3rd year. The going rate was $34M. $35M would have gotten it done.
and what assurance do you have that the player wouldn't have been whining and wanting to redo the deal as soon as a couple players signed for more?

a whiny player who always wants to be paid like they are the best player in the league (whether they are or not) & doesn't want to live up to what they signed is never going to be content. we understand Jerry's faults but we also need to understand the players faults.

It was a long year the year before when he was getting to the QB. How did that help when teams would just run all over them? Not entirely his fault but he sold his soul for the sacks.

Should the owners take less during the next collective bargaining agreement? You know so they won't be viewed as greedy by others.
Like it or not, it's their product. Why would any business owner give up a bigger % just because the employees want it? Are the employees working harder? Producing more?

This sounds like you’re making a bunch of stuff up.

Explain him on the field in the 2 san francisco games. I'll wait. Don't give a damn about double teams or chips. Answer the question. What was I supposed to see in the 2 san fran playoff games?
Or all the times they let him rush up field while they ran where he should have been

I'll say it again. Micah parsons fans are equivalent to lebron/Anthony edwards fans. Fans of guys obsessed with their stats. Terrible teammates. And low iq sports watchers get fooled by their performance. Only difference is lebron is gifted athletically moreso than anybody else. Micah will be chasing sacks when he comes back and making excuses and his fanboys will be here telling us how great he is when he gets a garbage time sack in a meaningless game.

You haven't seen players coming back before their deal is up???

Not Micah.

Last one I recall was Zack Martin in the Great Retirement Heist

He held out of training camp and all the fans here came to his rescue like a damsel in distress saying “pay that man!”

Well, Jerry gave him another bag and he played a year and promptly retired.

Cowboys were left with $26m in dead money, including $17m this year

Wonder why we couldn’t bring in more free agents?

Just like Eric Williams ragdog Reggie White. I can fine a weakness in every great player. If you had ask 500 nfl fans, ex & current players, commentators before MP got injured. Who was the best Defensive player in the league over the last 5 years and they saying Garrett, Donald or Parsons
