Parsons looked very good for a rookie who missed all last year in his first game action of preseason.

saw some speed chasing down the RB on the screen.

Saw him get into the backfield several times and also not allow a RB to get the edge on him.

saw him have a couple tackles.

of course the fumble recovery.

Jaylon Smith meanwhile was getting pushed 7 yards downfield by a guard on a running play.
I saw the same thing! I also saw Jaylon either taking bad angles or standing there watching. Its only an opening pre season game but its going to be interesting to watch him more.

What McCarthy said about trusting your eyes is the truth. There is no way to ignore what this kid can be. Parsons is going to be special and we’re lucky to get him.

Jaylon needs to go. Unfortunately our GM loves his story. It has to be that because I sure as hell can’t be his play on the field

Where are all those Micah Parsons sacks that we were promised? He did seem to be around the ball a lot but he also seemed to be just outside of range to make a tackle on many of those plays. He is good for the run stop which matters greatly. It's for that reason he'll be a starter for many years.

Giving up a first down now has categories? Child please.......

The facts are linebackers get paid to make tackles. Jaylon did that at a high level last season despite not having a DL that was keeping him clean. Parson did great and what he is paid to do but if we being honest it didnt look much different than what Jaylon did for us last season.

Last season? Jaylon sucked last season. Please do not compare Parson with Jaylon. If you count count how many tackles Jaylon makes you also need to count how terrible he is shedding blocks, how terrible he is diagnosing plays, whiff tackles, missed tackles and basically putting the team in losing positions time after time by playing out of position.

There is not much about Jaylon. He basically sucks and is not worth the money we are paying him.

The fact that right out of the gate they are moving him around is a great sign.

If I’m at home trying to find where he is on each play then I know the opposing offense is too.

They have a lot invested in him and they need to find out if he is going to be able to adapt and be productive.

I think Parsons will be better and more impactful than even Sean Lee was when healthy.

i think he will be even more
Impactful than a healthy Sean Lee was.
Shawn Lee in his first few years was on a HOF pace
11 ints at LB in his first 4 years
2013 he had 174 yards returning ints
If Lee had played 10 healthy years he would have been one of the all time greats

Another thing about Parsons too

go back and watch the fumble recovery.

yes, Parsons didn’t force the fumble. However, the play was a jet sweep and Parsons beat his blocker immediately after the snap.

Without the fumble, Parsons would have been in position to blow the play up and at least get a tackle for a loss.

also, him beating his blocker immediately is what allowed him to be in position for the fumble recovery.

anyway you slice it. Very nice play by him.

Parson hasn't did anything that I have not seen Jaylon do so far. Im sure that will change or at least I hope it does.

However, Parson did make mistakes in the first preseason game. Youre looking through rose colored glasses.

Sorry bud...your rose colored glasses is pointed back at you...

3 tackles with one fumble recovery in his very first preseason game. What did Jaylon do?

Jaylon won't be in the Cowboys' future. So you can stop being his official cheerleader.

Man I’m pumped for Parsons! Can you imagine him putting on 10lbs in the off-season. He’s looking good

I think Jaylon has to realise the pressure is on now. If he does not perform well this year, I think he ends up being a June 1 cut next year and we draft another LB to replace him directly.

I'm so far very glad to be wrong about my draft day skepticism on him.

Did Jaylon even play more than 1-2 plays? I don't remember seeing him after coming out of the tunnel.

Oh man, you missed the play of the game(Sarcasm button)LOL.... He was literally winding up to swipe..
