Yes! Thankfully, they signed him to the full 4 years. Can't sign more than 4 years. lol
He will be a very good player who will hold down his position for 10 years- however it is a position not valued the way it once was. Slater would have helped the OL and you can find great LBs in the 2nd and 3rd- not great OL.

You should know that no player signs a rookie contract past 4 yearsWouldn't sign past 4 years. The length of you know who's deal.
Either we get a real QB or he's out.
I read ya, Micah. I read ya.

It will be valued when you actually have a good one!

It’s not position specificI think that's position-specific too though. Like WR franchise tag is 20+, whereas I don't know if any non-edge-rush-specialist LBers are that high. So Devonta at pick 12 may have still been pricier
If you could regularly find great LB in the second then no one would take them in the firstNow do you think you will find another Larry Allen? Chin is a decent comparison- he is going to be that hybrid LB, has been dominant and was taken in the 2nd. When you regularly find great LBs in the 2nd that first round pick has to be used accordingly.
I meant valued in the draft. People talk about RB- safety and linebacker are also positions many teams now feel do not warrant first round or top 20 picks. Time will tell but if I ran a team I would not take a LB in the top 10.

You might. You can find offensive lineman in later rounds, it is possible. We currently have only two first round lineman in the projected starting line up and our line figures to be one of our strengths (if healthy). We needed to inject talent on the D. Basically every position needed an upgrade. Now do you think you will find another Larry Allen?
