He took the league by surprise last season.

Now, they are acutely aware of him. He will need some help. Who on this defense is going to step up and force offenses to limit their strategy of neutralizing Micah?

I see many worthy candidates.

This guy loves to compete, should be fun watching him set the tone for what I hope will be a very physical defense. Players like Micah are infectious, they raise the intensity level of those around them. We're going to get after some folks this season, I'm not saying it's going to be Doomsday, but I think we're more than capable of giving you a bad day.

I think this comment is my favorite. Tom Brady has been in the league for 3 decades...anyone aware of him yet? I'm sorry..I'm not trying to be harsh but...what can an offensive coordinator do when an opposing Linebacker is faster then their running back and bigger then there tight end? Like...cool...be aware of that while you running back just lost 4 yards.

People think Parsons just got by on luck or something last year. Did you actually watch the dude play. He was the fastest and biggest player on the entire field in every game we played last season.

Here is what opposing coaches will be saying to his players to minimize him...

"ummm...do you guys think you can run faster and gain like 60 lbs please...it's how we are going to slow down Micah Parsons on Sunday."

Parsons is the reason I remain excited for the season ahead, literally the only reason sadly.......Diggs gets an honourable mention.

It is a sport designed to entertain and he certainly does that.

No 1 man can control a game though and I'm crossing my fingers we have players around him who can step up too and turn the D into something special.

Looking at you Williams, Lawrence, Cox, Hooker.

I love the defense—finally. I’m not sure though why everyone thinks the offense will be that bad after losing two aging tackles and a good WR. It still should be, at least, well above avg.

I think the offense will go through some growing pains in the first part of the season but when Tyler gets settled in at LT, we get Gallup back and hopefully Zeke stays healthy I feel our offense can/will be just as potent as last year. Then if the defense is top 5 we are a scary team. I'm concerned about the offense until the offensive line gets. When that happens then look out NFL.

You are concerned about the offense until the offensive line gets what? Does it seem a word got left out or something?

That mentality. "Not worried if the offense scores 0 points. We can score on defense and I just want to go out there and kill some people I don't like."

That's that killer instinct this defense has missed for decades.

Lets hope his play on the field doesnt start going downhill now that he is loving the camera.

OK then
Micah makes these comments...and it is great, and everyone loves it, as well as his comments.

But the other players, coaches, owner makes similar comments they get ragged...
Just an observation.
Fair or not, I believe the difference in appreciation comes from Parsons' high energy performance and dominant play seen in his rookie year. I think he will be facing the same degree of cynicism shown for certain players, coaches and the owner slash general manager in particular if-and-when his high level of play drops.

Personally, I like hearing Parsons say he does not like other people. I believe a healthy amount of animosity is needed in sports and especially in team sports.

The NFL's fierceness has dulled somewhat since the introduction of the modern free agency in the 1990's. Players began moving between teams much more than they ever did before. They formed many more friendly bonds between each other. The evolution of social media has allowed players to enjoy more personal connections among themselves during the same period also.

So, it is refreshing to me seeing-and-hearing an "old school" mentality in today's NFL. It is not necessary for Parsons to be perceived as some sort of hate machine. He appears to be a very goodhearted young man, who is likely beloved by family and friends. What I like is a player who loves football so much that he wants to hurt other teams' players so he does not end up feeling personal heartache from losing. That is the purest form of sports passion in my book, something not really seen as often now as in days long gone.
