Mike is the biggest Jones butt kisser on the planet and I am tired of pretending he is not ....... He will always toe the company line and right now that line is that it's everyone else's fault except Dak.

Mike is a legend, but he is also a homer. His opinion isn't worthless, but I can see him trying to defend the face of the franchise from criticism.

The first one is on Dak in end zone. Yes Shultz didn't do his job but it was clear before Dak threw the ball that he didn't and there were way too many defenders in that space. The fact Dak still threw that speaks to how bad he can be with his decision making at times. You can't make those mistakes in the red zone period.

Lol....Dak should be reading that...and not forcing that throw to begin with.
He's throwing with anticipation. Dak has made some horrendous decisions, but that is not one of them. In every playbook there are instructions for WRs of what to do route wise when they get certain coverages. Let's say it's middle of field open (cover 2). The route may go from a dig to a post. Or vice versa if it's Middle of field closed(1 high). If Ceedee crosses the safeties face it's a catch and big gain. Again stuff like that is in every playbook so there should be no miscommunication.

I’m not saying Dak doesn’t deserve blame, but a good amount of blame also goes on- 1: bad play design 2: stupidity by Ceedee/Schultz, or both . Multiple times those 2 ran virtually the same route in the same spot.

CeeDee saw the route was screwed and Shultz knew it was screwed. The only one who did not realize it was screwed was Dak!

On the second one, that was Dak trying to get CeeDee laid out AGAIN - just like the Int across the middle vs Chicago!

In theory there was nothing wrong with the route if run correctly. 1 of the WR’s was supposed to run the route to the back of the end zone causing the safety to go with them leaving the crosser more open underneath. When both WR’s cut their routes off it left the safety unoccupied and an easy int. Like I said, Dak deserves blame for letting the ball go. But there is also no excuse for our receivers (and TE) to not know their route or how to run it. It’s bad football all around

For everyone that praised Isaiah Stanback’s breakdown of the INT vs the bears, today on Talkin Cowboys, he clearly said it was Dak’s fault and that he read the coverage wrong

As you can see from the video, Shultz got chucked which threw off the timing and got in CeeDee's way, so, yes they are supposed to run the route but Dak has to see that the timing play was not on schedule and adjust and he did not.

Nothing's ever his fault.
It's truly amazing how you can have a QB that has never, to my knowledge at least, thrown a bad pass or made any bad decisions as an NFL QB, but yet never led his team to anything more than 1 measly Wild Card win.

Dak has to be a once in a generation type of player.

It’s a whole different discussion to be had, but if your TE has to completely abandon his downfield route because a LB gives him a 1 arm chuck…well then you need a new TE.

Not sure why everything has to be so black and white on this board. It is a team game after all. It’s ok to say that both Dak and Ceedee/Schultz failed at doing their jobs.
