This was some minutes ago on NFL Gameday Morning
I know this has been beaten to death but in regards to the current state and frustration that comes along with these Cowboys I thought that it was a great summation :

I love me some Mike. You can still see that fire in him. Born winner.

Kurt Warner had a good take on the whole "playing not to lose" and why it doesn't work a little before this

edit- and loved the "hear me with your ears not your mouth"

That Ware "This will never happen again" comment really scares me. I don't want Dez to lose that energy. This team has been so conditioned to mediocrity its very sad.

If he was talking about when Dez didn't want to get back on the field then I hope that doesn't happen again.

We are all entitled to our opinions but I don't think Dez was "refusing" to go back on the field. During his rant was while they were reviewing the play to make sure it was a TD. From what I saw, he just wouldn't stop spazzing and Witten and Ware were trying to get him to calm down and just put on his helmet since we had time left. At one point you could see Dez say "I'm tired of it", which in my opinion, he is probably saying "I'm tired of losing."

But I don't think for one second Dez was trying to chill out on the sidelines and head back to the showers. He was just letting it be known that to continue to lose like this and be mediocre is unacceptable. Which it is. But alot of veterans are used to heartbreakers and mediocre seasons so in their mind its simply "On to the next one."

I must have missed this anyone got the full quote

Also 100% agree with Irvin. I was watching this live and he couldn't have been more accurate in comparing his fight to change the losing culture he arrived in with Dez doing the same.

listen to this man!!!

I love Dez's passion, I just think he can go about it in a different way. Though I do agree that this could be something to help lift this mediocre culture that this team has been in for so long. For the past 2 decades we've had a TON of changes, yet we still haven't shaken this .500 mess. But there is one thing that hasn't changed, and that's Jerry Jones. He's a brilliant business man, but I think he's most to blame for the mess.

Boy I wish we had Irvin back.

I don't think he will ever get into coaching. But don't believe he still doesn't influence our WR corp. He admitted he speaks to Dez regularily. The passion he has for the Cowboys will NEVER leave that mans body.

That's pretty much why I don't think we'll win anything until the old guard is out.

I agree. My wife is a physician and believes a large part of our population is on anti depressants. Use is more common versus 20 years ago when people wore their emotions on their sleeves. These days people look at you funny when you speak your mind.
