He's talking about what he would do if was coaching the Cowboys.

1) Tell T.O. if he wines about anything he's gone and then spread rumors to to other teams to make sure no one else picks him up. ALA Jimmy Johnson.

2) Talk to Tony Romo about being accountable in practice and games. If he doesn't work in practice then he won't play in the game.

3) Have a talk with the O-Line and tell them if anyone jumps they stand a chance of getting cut. That would start in the preseason games.

Salary cap or not. He would get control of the team. Take it by the head. If you control the head the body will follow.

That'd be good for a laugh, considering all them just re-upped with big-time contracts (sans Kosier). They know damn well they aren't getting cut.

The rest, I'm all for.

I love Michael, but he's an idiot if he said this seriously. He's not some naive armchair GM, he knows how football works.

no more naive than saying stuff like

"there is nothing wrong with this team"
"the Giants went 9-7 the year before they won the SB"
"winning in the NFL is all about luck"
"wade and JJ will change next year"

not saying you are saying this but many are

Bring back the Parcells type fine system including the amounts and extend it to practice habits and game time screw ups.....

Players Union will probably cry foul but for every penalty in a game, pow, $5,000...

Only thing players these days understand is their money, take some away and you will get their attention.

I believe that Theebs reported that sources in the know such as Babe Laufenberg said that the fines under Wade Phillips were similar to the ones under Bill Parcells.

As for the TO point made,

Personally, I think dealing with TO doesn't have to be so "fatal".

I've been saying for a couple weeks now simply tell him what the offensive system is going to look like (i.e., what type of identity we plan on having next season, assuming we have a clue), ask him if he wants to play in that system. And be 100% honest in explaining his role in that system.

If he WANTS to play in that system, tell him no complaining to the press or consistently complaining to the players, or coaches - otherwise he's cut.

Basically, just play the game.

If he's not interested in playing the offensive system outlined by the coaching staff, then no hard feelings. Ciao.

As for cutting the OL if they false start/penalties - we won't have any left after the pre-season. :laugh2:

But I do like the idea of implementing REAL fines for screwing up assignments in practice, etc.

Didn't Irvin use to be one of TO's biggest backers? When did this change?

You don't have to tell T.O. anything, all you have to do is get the other players to practice and play as hard as he does, and want to win as much as he does, and get him the %$#! ball everything else will take care of itself.

Irvin talks changing Cowboys

I know what to do.

Throw this team in the washing machine with some of this...

I guess they should just kiss his *** while they're at it. Unfreakingbelievable!!!! Tell him to shut up, play, or hit the road. Period.

We'd have TEs and RBs and LBs blocking for the QB by year's end if a false start equals a waiver. I would penalize stupid errors, but not that extreme.

By the way, this was simply the dumbest post I've ever read. Take T.O. and shove him up your ***.

Listen to the audio I listed. He didn't exactly just list it like that.

Okay we don't need anyone shoving any players up their ***. Things are bad but they're not that bad yet.

He didn't exactly say it like that Hos don't worry.

He said it would have to be the right people to set an example.

Check out the audio when you get home. It's a very good listen.

Fines are necessary as some people get it and can't afford them. I don't see how you can fine players for penalties. In fact I believe it's against league rules. Not sure of that though. They're not even supposed to fine themselves although I understand they do.

The best way to get to a player is to bench them. If that doesn't work then they'll cut themselves eventually. Those players have pride. You can't cut people anymore. Not realistically.
