Michael Irvin says OBJ interested in joining Cowboys

Lmao if y’all still think he’s a bad locker room guy you’re out of touch. The guy is beloved by all his former teammates.

Go listen to how Rams, Browns, and Giants teammates talk about him; he’s beloved.

He’s not kicking net Odell guys, people grow. Update your information and perception, he’s not the emotional young guy he was in NY.

The fact that the media even has dropped the narrative is telling, they never dropped that with TO. Time for y’all to do the same.

I hear you. That is my thought process as well. Id rather trade for Cooks.
He isn't like TO, more like Dez Bryant. Very passionate and competitive. Like Dez he will allow his emotions to get the best of him at times. I think he would be highly motivated as he wants to get paid next offseason. Would you rather give up a 1 or a 2 for another receiver or one that only costs cap space for this yr? If healthy, he is the #1 option out there.

same was never a TO fan but as a member of the team you bet I wanted to see him have success. OBJ, coming off his 2nd ACL within 2 years should be of concern,
The big question I would have is why wouldn't the Rams want him. He made a huge difference for them when he was on the field. That alone scares me off.

Von Miller adores OBJ.

That's good enough for me.

That and he has vet lockerroom clout because he has a ring.

This leadership will be more critical in postseason.

But health is key.

They do want him, they offered him a deal and McVay said at his press conference that they really want him back. They still have his locker untouched lol.

The issue is money, they are cap strapped and he wants more than the vet minimum. The issue is not that they don’t want him at all.

Serious question- Is OBJ still a great receiver? His last two seasons:
  • 2021- LAR- played in 14 games- 44 receptions for 537 yds, 5 TDs. Avg 12.2 yds per catch and 38.4 ypg. Injured in SB.
  • 2020- Cle- played in 7 games due to injury. 23 receptions, 319 yds, 3 TDs. Avg 13.9 per catch and 45 ypg.
This is not the resume of a guy who is going to step in anywhere and raise the passing game to a new level. OBJ turns 30 next week and with those injuries the last few years, he’s an old 30.

Hard no for me.

Good point, scary part is coming off the 2nd ACL what are you actually getting, OBJ of the past or are you getting player clinging for a paycheck and some attention?

Short term it could work. He has calm down a lot since joining the Rams and maybe he needed to be around people who were more valuable to a team than him.

He is looking for one big payday before retirement so he will be in his best behavior if he joins any team this year.

On tape he was open all the time in Cleveland, Baker is just a bad QB and wasn’t able to get it to him.

He joins a new offense mid-season and immediately becomes the WR2 to Kupp. Statistically, he wasn’t really in a position to dominate. But watch the first half of the SB and tell me you didn’t see a highly effective WR.

His only concern to me is injury and if he can get back to at least Rams Odell. If he can and stays healthy we got a weapon.

Every player is interested in joining the Cowboys.

I don't know why but they are.

If The Player can stay healthy, at the right price, awwwriiiiightty.

I say bring him in for cheap on a one year deal. He would immediately upgrade the WR corps. He will never fill the void that Amari left but it's better than nothing for this Cheap FO

My only issue is ODB is coming off an ACL, and I don't like the idea of depending on 2 WRs coming off that injury.

And if I recall correctly, the last time OBJ came off an injury like that it took him a year to get going again. Of course he had Baker Mayfield throwing to him in Cleveland but still, those injuries can slow guys down even after they recover.
