Im not blaming Dak.
But of course you can audible to shift protection to a double team or chip...though you might be going against the original play call without obvious scheme reason. Thats why it was option 3 first option 1.

I didn't think you were blaming Dak. I agree he could audible to shift protection, it would seem irregular to do so without a scheme reason though and as you said maybe also wouldnt happen in such an inexperienced qb.
