Loved Tyler Smith.

Wasn’t a fan of Parsons because all I saw was linebacker footage and I still don’t think he’s anything special at MLB. Lacks instincts for the position.

I didn’t get to see Parsons as an edge rusher until the Chargers game and I was the first person to say that’s his spot when CZ assured me he needed to go back to linebacker.

Thankfully the Cowboys agreed with me.
After the first round Jerry said that Parsons may be the best pass rusher in that draft.

Just another thing I blew off as Jerry ridiculousness.

Absolutely no scouting reports had him as the type of player he is, so it’s possible a lot of what we read on these guys isn’t perfectly accurate. Parsons supposedly lacked football instincts as well. Ok.

Yeah but it’s not like Mayer is gonna get moved to runningback and we’re all shocked at how good he is at it.

We know what he is. A nice solid player. Yawn.

I’d be begging Atlanta to trade Kyle Pitts then go the Mayer route.

Please give a list of the players that you don't like and I'll use that as my mock draft because if you don't like them, they're guaranted Hall of Famers...

He’s going to be good.

Problem is he’s going to underwhelm as your first round pick.

Like you’ll probably get a long career out of him and look back and think we had a good TE for 10 years.

I just want something more impactful with my first pick.

Not a 1990s classic TE throwback. Boring.
Mayer to me is that guy is all but guarenteed to give you production. I have a hard time not seeing him replicate some of Shultz receiving numbers. That is something, but underwhelming for a 1st round.

I dont believe in some peoples belief that "because Shultz was a 4th, we can get that production from a 4th rounder". No Shultz was a nice score for a 4th rounder. However he just signed a 1 year deal worth 9 million, so how valuable is he really?

Remember seeing a list recently of the players taken at pick 26 in past drafts. It's a pretty underwhelming list. If you can get a solid 10 year starter in Mayer, which even his detractors think he could be, then you take that player at 26.

Also, look at how first round TEs are panning out these days vs nearly all the elite TEs being day 2 and day 3 picks.

Would you rather have 5 years of a Jamaal Charles / Alvin Kamara

Or

10 years of Tyler Eifert / Kyle Rudolph / Cole Kmet

I’m taking a risk on a impactful position then getting my solid TE in the first.

Considering how many of your posts are about Mayer, it really must be something personal with you. Did he piss in your Wheaties or what?

So your saying no TE or just not Mayer?

i disagree.
he is the best te in the group.
IF that is their prefered target...mayer at 26 will be a home-run.
he'll be one of our most consistent players week in...week out.
Most disagree. He puts zero stock in leadership, toughness and blocking ability.

Mayer would be incredible and solve a host of problems for us and will improve both the run and the pass.

He is most certainly not the best TE in the class. Better at blocking? Probably. Best overall? No - that’s Kincaid.
Kincaid is a pass catching TE. Bad at blocking. Mayer is the #1 consensus rated TE.

Mayer isn't staying in Dallas for 10 years if he's not better than that group. But if you are asking would I rather have Bijon or Mayer at 26, I would take Bijon. I don't think its likely he falls that far.
