I agree. The talent is there, but it seems the OL coaching in Tennessee is not getting the job done. Worst case scenario, we sign him to a 2 year contract for pennies.
Honestly, I don't think it's between Free and Oher, I think it's between Parnell and Oher. Worst case, he's a swing tackle, best case, he's a borderline pro-bowl RT who's still 28.
I'll disagree on two points:
First, I think there's less chance that Parnell sticks around than Free does. I think Free wants to stay, while Parnell wants to get paid. And I think Callahan and the Commanders will do just that. Don't be shocked when Parnell makes more next season.
Secondly, right now, Oher is a borderline NFL player, not a borderline Pro Bowler. Tennessee couldn't WAIT to get rid of him, what does that tell you?
And this is coming from someone who was a huge fan early in his career. Something's not right with him, physically, mentally, motivationally, whatever. For whatever reason, he has regressed rather than progressed over the course of his career.
I'd give him a shot like I would for a 'Tony Hills spot' and a chance at redemption and resurrecting a once-promising career, but I wouldn't count on him.
