The problem in modern America is that people believe that "equal opportunity" means total equality, which it doesnt.

Then move the post over there. Because there's no way to discuss such a matter as this WITHOUT sounding political. Because, this whole subject has NOTHING TO DO WITH FOOTBALL, or sports in general.

This conversation NEVER starts with any Commander players or staff. I never hear the fans hollering about it. I've seen maybe a dozen American Indians the last 30 years "protesting" outside the stadium during televised games. If American Indians WERE INDEED as offended as they SHOULD be (according to you), then the protests and anarchy would BE THERE. Because there's nothing the media loves more than a left wing "protest" to go salivating after.

If it actually mattered, you'd know about it LOOOOOONG before some poster brought it up around here. But, apparently, and clearly, it doesn't matter to the very folks who, according to YOU, should be absolutely out-of-their-minds with outrage...........

AND YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT BY NOW!!! In this country, any little REAL offense to any minority, and it's WW 3!!

That statement was put forth in a political document having to do with rights, laws and freedoms that everyone in this country is endowed with.

Bottom line is, all the whining and complaining and taking sides..............won't matter. Because the very two major players in the debate, The Washington Commanders Football Club and the American Indian community have no interest in the matter. The only people who butt-in are busy-body's with nothing better to do than to raise hell just for the sake of agitation and grief. They just can't sleep at night unless they're protesting something or have some other beef. If they didn't have some chip on their shoulder about something, they'd have no life..................

Please go back and read the Declaration of Independence, you obviously do not have a clue as to that document's clear intent.

In fact your arguments are suspiciously similar to racist overtones of the 3/5 Compromise which counted slaves as 3/5 of a person, but did not consider Indians to even equal a person.

However this he doesn't have right. Referencing a political/legal document in terms of its relevance to the legal case in this thread is not something that should be bound to only the political forum.

Blaming the "damn liberals" for a whole list of things is something that should stay in the political forum.

I agree it is something that is between the Commanders and the Native American community.

While I think people have a legitimate claim in wanting the name changed, I know that it won't happen. I neither lose sleep or let myself be consumed in it. It's the way it is.
