While I think our politically correct country is over-reacting and bursting with righteous indignation, I do think it would be better for all involved if theyr changed their name.

That being said, let's not kid ourselves into thinking this is like calling a team the "n******" or "c*****", because it isnt on that level

Ahh, just leave em alone. They don't deserve the publicity or attention for that matter. Just think how we would feel if they tried to take our Cowboy name away. The term cowboy has a lot of negative connotations and can be viewed offensively if you squint yer eyes real hard, and get you panties all tied up an such.

Regardless of whether a person believes the name is right or wrong, this statement is rediculous.

If I and a few of my friends were upset about something and sued to get it changed, does that mean that just because we filed the suit we should get our way?

Head out to a reservation and I bet you would get a slightly different consensus.

Should the team have to change its name? They probably should.

Will they have to? Probably not.

Personally, I think the mascot for the Cleveland Indians is far more distasteful than the name Commanders.

Let me share this with you: I've know a ton of black people in my life, and NOT ONCE did I ever hear ANYTHING that I hear that "black America" believes or stands for. I've known a TON of women in my life, and maybe 1/10 of 1% of them recites what the "polls" say women want. And yes, I've know my share of gay folks too, and NEVER heard a peep about "discrimination" or gay-rights. Not a ONE!

If the group is a fashionable and "in vogue" liberal PC group, then you find a dozen big-mouth whiners, but that's enough of a sampling to declare the whole entire group is in lock-step. If the result, as is the case with American Indians not caring a twit about the Commander thing, doesn' jive with the expected PC and desired result, then the study or poll is dismissed as bogus. Happens every time.

But it's STILL true! They've been going back and forth over this "Commander" thing for three decades now. And the answer from the "offended" community has been consistently the same. No one cares. Many are even honored by American Indian nicknames.

But, that's not kosher with the liberal "protectors" and "guardians" of the religion. The American Indian population has stepped out of line by NOT being offended, but that doesn't matter. They don't know what's good for them anyway! So we're (the PC Army) just going to press on and pester everyone until they get what they want..............

No, polls are suspect when they are constructed in a garbage matter.

Or polls are suspect when the write-up specifically states a number of reasons why getting information on their "sample" has its shortcomings.

Just like you say you know groups of minorities who do not subscribe to common methods of behavior, don't generalize that all liberals want to rename the Commanders.

I really don't see what politics has to do with this issue. I guess it must be real easy to blame the big bad liberals in any situation.

The problem in modern America is that people believe that "equal opportunity" means total equality, which it doesnt.
