Michael Trigg

With his hands and ability to highpoint the ball he doesn't seem to need much separation.
In the NFL he will if he wants to play a lot of snaps instead of just being a red zone gadget player.

And how's he gonna get out there ahead of Ferg, Schoon and Spann-Ford? I mean, it's fun to dream about these guys coming in and taking over but let's be real. He would need an injury swarm to get anywhere near the field. We still have Sam Williams on the team so there's a chance!
Schoon to be traded for a conditional 6th round pick

Call him Big Trigg(onometry) because you can't figure him out. ;)

Could be the Schoonmaker replacement. or even Spann-Ford.
I know many like him over Schoonmaker, and has shown some potential. But I think they want to see more in the passing game.
Schoonmaker in the last year of his contract. I doubt the offer him a 2nd contract. Or can they even trade him for a late round draft pick. Maybe during TC.
If we get a second round pick for Schoon, I’m drinking until my liver fails. But I think my liver is probably safe.

I want to temper my enthusiasm.

Something was not right with Trigg through the pre-draft interview process for a player of his talent to not get drafted. Look at the list of tight ends that did get selected this weekend and I bet 80 percent of them have nowhere near the talent Trigg has.

Maybe this goes beyond the maturity and benching issues he had in college. Teams that talked to him at the combine might not have liked what they heard. Hopefully I am wrong.
There were some real head scratchers on some of the tight end draft picks.

Marcellus had a very good career once he left here. His problem was sitting behind Witten.
He had so much physical talent he never worked that hard on the nuances of the position. And that is why he never was what he could have been

Witten was an all time great and one of my favorite players but he far outstayed his useful career span.
Probably. But he was so dependable; he was a QBs safety blanket and that counts.

Yep, dumb people post dumb things. Marty B did win a Superbowl with the Giants, they lost him to Chicago and he was a leader there. Witten, 5.2 forty yard dash, was an 8 year progress stopper.
Marty B won a SB ring with NE not the Giants. He took over for an injured Gronk during the 2016 season.
In their comeback SB win against the Falcons he made major plays that helped them win the Championship.
Just sayin...

More of a general TE observation in general Bill Parcells once said he loves TE, he collects them. It seems, and ive not dine a analysis compating before Parcellls and after, but just appears that is something Jerry et al have adopted.

Nope........just read Brugler's entire profile. Nothing that stands out other than a suspension for a couple of games 2 years apart. I think NOT working out hurt him ..........
That's going to be an increasing issue moving forward. Players not working out, skipping bowl games more and more podcasters all building a brand around themselves. Same with older players. People staying for that NIL bag.

Sounds like the inhibiting factor in this case is between the ears. But I don't see the downside. No draft pick was used and if the lightbulb goes on maybe the Cowboys hit pay dirt. If not, there is no loss cutting him at the end of training camp.

He certainly look the part more than Schoonmaker.

Hopefully he can be grounded and listen to the coaches unlike Kelvin Joseph.
This is more like Jayden Blue has all the talent in the world but has some immaturity issues that's holding him back The dude is like built like a ATO type got great hands catches but he hasn't got enough reps because he's been in a doghouse..

So hopefully he gets that straight and the Cowboys will find a hidden gem that could possibly be a starter here i'm not saying that's true but from whatever thing I've been reading and seeing on the field yelling holding him back is his self his work ethic he needs to show a team like Dallas that he is willing to put the work in and that's why it took Jayden Blue a while but I guarantee Blue will be starting this year off different I think he got it figured out he wasn't going to get away with stuff he got away with in college he ain't BMOC here...

You know I don't know what you're talking about 'cause I got the guy ignored but that is a good comp for this guy I think he is built like him can catch like him but this also can be a knucklehead like him so yeah I mean I didn't even think about that that would be a great comp for this guy and if he could turn into that at minimum.. This will be one of the best pickups this offseason...

Hes a troll. They hate optimism of any sort. Its not like you cut Ferguson and started measuring for a gold jacket. Gawd forbid a team with a strong track record signing UDFAs made a nice potential pick up.
Miles Austin anyone? Low risk, high reward potential. Absolutely nothing wrong with it.

It's being reported that they also gave Trigg 200k guaranteed.

If I trust one thing with our front office is evaluations of tight ends. This guy could end up surprising the heck out of all of us, and you never really know when you might hit on someone that could take you over the top. Not saying that trigg will do that, but if someone like him has a epiphany and actually grows up and gets motivated it could spell hell for any defense in the league trying to cover all of our guys...
