Michael Trigg

quick google search will find you some interesting things. "Alleged" things.......... like smoking weed and confrontations with players, coaches and authority figures. IMO that is correctable but Trigg will have to want to make changes for alleged issues.
I assumed as much ....... hopefully the kid has learned from that and will become a professional at this level ........

Man...I miss the days when we didn't have guys with any character issues like when we had Charles Haley and the Playmaker and guys like that.
Teams did not care back then because the internet and cell phones did not exist.

Mike and Haley would have been out of the league during their rookie contract these days.

Trigg is for sure at least a 3rd round talent with upside. If the coaches can get him to half way have him mature a bit, they could have something. He can make plays down the seam and Dak can make that throw.

Were those days reality or was it just that we didn't have the media coverage we have today? Actually, I do seem to remember some rumors about cocaine.

The kid is a specimen. He has an inch more reach than any TE to ever measure at the combine. Athleticaly hes a freak, and hes loaded with talent.

Between the ears is what will make or break him and why he went from an early draft pick to UDFA, but I'm sure you are aware.

Im just excited to take a risk free shot at him, abd reinforcing the fact we are actually pretty good with UDFAs.

Right that whole culture thing is overrated we're talking about either winning or losing culture But everything else you either a dog and can play some football and belong on my team or not but I don't care about character as long as they're not constantly being arrested missing games who cares where they came from and what they did in their past

Think people forget because there wasn't a heavy saturation of media or social media and no Internet no TMZ the crap that was happening in the 70s and 80s and yes we already touched on the 90s in the White House the North Dallas 40 stuff you can multiply that by ten of the things that you don't know about...

It's harder on these players because now the background checks and people following them around 24 hours a day everyone's got a camera and a phone and they have scouts that come from these media sources that just follow groups of guys around hoping they make a mistake That's just a lot of pressure to be perfect...

I said fill my damn roster up with guys that are true pure football players they like to hit and tackle Outside of that I mean we know that what what was Ray Lewis got involved in before he became a pro I mean I don't anybody remembering any character issues from him I mean I remember when Randy Moss didn't get picked because Jerry was worried about all the backlash from Michael Irvin and and went ahead and passed him up like an idiot stop worrying about culture and character as long as they can play and yes they cannot constantly be getting arrested or pulled over but as far as the attitude and things they may have done in college just don't worry about the crap...

Correct culture and character are not built by what you think their background checks say or the trouble they might have gone into when they were youths Winning that's it building a strong team that's AA winner is all the culture you need it's a winning culture or a losing culture everything else in between I don't worry about..

I am no Mickey, but can someone tell me why he was available? I saw the same videos as op and am impressed.

So hard on the players? Lol. Maybe just try to follow the rules that you need to follow for your employment and living in society. And yes now with NIL college is employment.

Well, with a certain level of success comes a certain level of grace....irvin might have been the ringleader at night but he was the first on the field and would run till he puked then keep going.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but I found an article and this is what an anonymous NFL scout said about Trigg:

“Ole Miss basically told him to leave,” a second scout said. “It’s hard to get thrown out at Ole Miss. Talentwise, he deserves to go third round. It’ll just be what (teams) uncover in terms of what his true value is. He’s more talented than Max Klare but he’s not as consistently reliable. He’s got some catches on tape, I mean, over the top of people. He also has some points where you go, ‘Huh? A little lazy there, young man.’ Doesn’t like blocking too much but when he does it he’s good. He’s a weapon. He’s probably the third most talented tight end.”

That's drafting to fit your QB. With Pickens, good running game & strengthened interior O line. They are giving #4 a lot of support, need results not excuses.
Dak has consistently ranked among the best tight window throwers in the NFL the past several seasons. Don't know where this perception of him needing guys with wide catch radius comes from. Just about any QB benefits from a guy like Trigg or Pickens that can snag passes that aren't right on the numbers because not every pass is going to on the money. That's just the reality about playing the position in the NFL.

Love the enthusiasm but I worry about guys like this behaving in Dallas.
