Maybe so, by the looks of things. Stephen is holding on to that money like there's no tomorrow. Obviously, we're tiptoeing w/our spending.
We have key players that must be retained, and you are right,,, SJ will squeeze a penny so hard hoping for a nickel in return.

so one thing that I took out of this is that it looks like they've shored up cap to not be the best roster coming into week 1, but to have the ability to add pieces before the trade deadline in the year.

It looks like from Stephens comments they are going to look at how the team is looking going into the season and have capital to improve throughout the year a la 2/3rd round pick for a Von Miller type player, OBJ trade or something along these lines as there may be a player in a contract dispute that we can use as a rental. This is a positive twist for me as it shows they are adjusting the approach to the draft only philosophy.
nope

I'm anticipating an ongoing problem of this team having to cope with Tyron's imposing injury prospects. It seems we'll likely have to find someone already on the roster to handle that need. I'm not seeing anyone to rectify that situation right now. Maybe somebody will step up during TC. We'd best hope so. I'm hoping Tyler Smith is able to be retained at LG and not be forced to resolve Tyron's absence. Waletzko is already having shoulder problems. That's just a bit worrisome, it seems. Let's see if he returns to the lineup sooner than later.

They work with the players 11 hours a day? That seems like a lot. Dallas looks thin at WR and RB to me.

I'm no capologist, by any means, so what you read may very well be something to bear in mind. We'll see if the Cowboys are forced into using some of that cap space to sign a veteran down the line. Hopefully, we'll keep everyone healthy but that's always a shaky proposition in pro football. Perhaps that scenario explains Stephen's reluctance to sign veteran backup help lately. It's very possible.
I would love some veteran OL help via free agency.

Tad says you better save them cap dollars. The price on Dak is going up after the golden year is in the books.
