I hope Folk is not forever ruined cuz of hip surgery and maybe next year he will be money again. Ive never felt this bad for letting go of a kicker as I do for Nick.

Wow. Are you serious? Really? It's just a kicker. They truly are a dime a dozen. Today's marksmen will be tomorrow's milkmen. IMHO, drafting a kicker is ludicrous (unless his name is Buehler).

should have draft M Crosby instead of Folk

the end

Did you see the Packers game yesterday against the steelers? He's just as bad as Folk is now. I wouldn't be surprised if Crosby got cut and the Packers sign Folk.

On a side note, this is a bad year to be trying to find a kicker in the draft. That class is :ralph:

Folk you Nick.

Good riddence to this clown.

Agreed, it's makes me sick sometimes. If I went to work and didn't do my job I would be canned. That's what it boils down to. He wasn't doing his job and now he can draw unemployment. He has truly hurt the cowboys this year.

well I'm glad we got Suisham back. even though he was in a funk just like folk, we just needed to go in another direction. i hated it when we cut suisham back when we did and he immediately got signed by the Commanders. I'm sure he'll be motivated to stick it to 'em for releasing him.

we'll probably bring folk back next offseason to battle it out with suisham in tc. you can tell the organization had a tough time releasing him and gave him all the chances they could to work out the kinks in his game. he just ran out of mullingans.

Yea, that's why we've had so many quality kickers over the years. There are so many available!

The probability of getting a decent kicker is always very high... You try three of four out and the best one over a short period of time gets the worm.

The probability of getting a HOF kicker is very slim. You don't blow a gasket in the draft trying to find one. There are many more important positions on the team.

Just my take...

heh, what makes *me* sick are the IGS who say folk is having a rough time cut the bum cause he sucks.

but for (2) years he gave us someone we could depend upon.

what it boils down to is he's having a rough time but was lucky enough to have an employer who stood by him as long as he could. i wish the kid well and don't see why "fans" have to take it so personal.

No one is taking it personal, Im just happy this glorfied soccer player wont have the chance to cost my favorite team another game.

I hope he finds his happiness, or whatever you want me to say, but I am thrilled he is gone, I woulda done it last week.

I think the team really didnt want to release Folk, even changed holders even though they really knew that was just bs in hopes of getting Folk out of his funk.

Missing that game winner from point-blank range was just too much. The team just had no choice and had to make a move. Of the kickers available, I like Suisham the best so all in all, I am happy.

Just wished Folk would have stayed MONEY like he was in the Buffalo game. Oh well, time to move on and hope Suisham doesnt cost us a game.

If Suisham costs them the game next week it would be the least surprising end to Decmeber ever.

I agree for 2 seasons Folk may have been the best FG kicker in franchise history.

My name is Seven and I endorse this post...............We wouldn't even have to flinch when he lined up. Money. Too bad really. However, this move probably saved his life!

It does not mean we have to make an exception and keep a player who cannot execute even the most basic functions of his job. It is no different than a quarterback who cannot pass, a running back who cannot run, a wide receiver who cannot catch or a cornerback who cannot cover.

But do not let that stand in the way of some quality rueage.

Should have been put on IR...

It might not have been an option. I believe we might have tried.

He was great before his surgery (The night in Buffalo with back-to-back 52 yard fields goals is something I won't ever forget), I think he should be given a chance to compete for his job back next year.

He still could be brought back (if he wants to come back).

I am skeptical a team signs him right now unless it is to stash away for next season. I do not see where he would be a help to anyone how he is kicking right now. We also invested a great deal of time in him and gave him every opportunity, so we should be interested in having him compete if he is brought back.
