Mickey: Do Not Minimize Dak's Availability

https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/spagnola-do-not-minimize-dak-s-availability

Mickey talks about Dak's injury and some observations when he was on crutches. Then to now being on the field for OTA's.
As Dak said, he is not cleared for contact. And does not expect to be for another few months, supposedly in time for TC. Which when he said that, TC is about 2 months away.

He also talks about how important it is to have your starting QB the entire season.
Last year 10 of the 14 teams had their starters for all 17 games. 2 teams held out their QB's the last game of the season, so had them for 16 games.
2 teams lost their QB for 2 games, Hurts with a concussion theist 2 games. Love with a knew injury for 2 games.
No, he was not saying if Dak stayed healthy, they would have made the playoffs.

He is propping up Dak a bit with some stats, and he is right. However, we fans still measure success by playoff wins and getting to the NFCCG for once. That is where he fails at in this article. Of course he will not write that. I post that for the Mickey haters. And I don't blame them.
He's never had a losing season when he's been healthy if he plays a majority of the games they've made the at least had a winning record but of late he's made the playoffs a lot games, it's important to have your starters. Quarterback yes most important...

Hes really the worst kind of member to have on a forum. They only want to read things they agree with.

Pathetic, actually
Oh, he is alright, I guess. I don't pay much attention to him because his novels and word salad it just to much when he can state what he means in a few paragraphs, but no! It has to be a freaking book! lol

He just comes off as looking older and more fragile than other QBs his age. The decline in his mobility has really been evident the past few years. Players bodies breakdown at different ages and of course sometimes it 's just bad luck and one or two seasons of injuries doesn't mean it will happen the next season. Maybe if he loses weight? He doesn't exactly seem to be a "workout warrior". We really need his healthy for the next couple of years at least
Have you seen Dak? He's shredded. To say he isn't in shape is disingenuous. I know. I know. Cue the best shape of his life cliche'.

I'm just saying. To say he isn't in shape or doesn't work out is just lazy thinking.

See, that's where some people don't read ALL of someone's comments and only FIXATES on the negative comments.

For example.......I love the Pickens aquisition but dont like the Javonte Williams aquisition. Does that make someone a " hater " or merely a fan with an informed opinion?
I think Javonte Williams will be better here than Denver, especially 2 years out from his injury.

I can't figure out if I like Kenneth Walker. Maybe he's better in Eberflus' system.

We agree on Pickens, though.

Hater!!!! You and your homies that gave you likes. Me la pelan....
Lol

Nothing personal.

Here. Check out this video. Much more in depth...

Dak clearly is still very mobile. More than mobile enough...

Just finished watching the whole video, and these were the only highlights worth noting. The rest of the video was dominated by drop back, pass, over and over and over. That doesn't scream mobile QB to me, but that's just my opinion. I'm not going to try and change your view. It's not much from a 15 minute video.

2:11 - decent roll out
2:34 - started to scramble, but pitched the ball off before getting sacked
2:48 - decent run for gain
5:00 - designed QB run for TD (1 yard)
6:18 - mini scramble
11:50 - tiny scramble / roll out
13:43 - good scramble and run for a 1st
14:00 - mini scramble

Watch this video from 2024 and you will see a QB I would consider far more mobile than Dak has ever been or will ever be. And sure, I will throw this in to save you some typing in a rebuttal, he too hasn't won squat. But he has at least made it to 2 AFCCG's.

He’s never been “mobile”.. He runs likes he’s in molasses or lead-footed. His strength and low base just made him incredibly difficult to take down.. But if he lost his strength, that “advantage” is gone, so call it a wrap.
You haven’t watched for more than the last few years if you don’t see the difference in his mobility

Here we go. Now you went from Josh Allen to Lamar Jackson. Neither one has reached a Super Bowl, much less won one. Pretty much destroys what you are preaching. It's like the further you move those goal posts, the worse your argument gets.

And, yes, Dak is definitely a mobile QB. He is no pure pocket passer. When Dak needs to tuck the ball and run, he does, but most of the time, he is plenty of mobile enough all game long to give his receivers time to get open.

Who brought up Josh Allen first?

You did - right here:

50/50 he makes it through camp.
He will make it through camp. They already said they were sort of going to baby him because of his injury. It's when the red shirt comes off that will tell the truth.

Does it matter? The point still stands as valid because that is the type of QB you and the other Dak critics want: a bonafied running QB. My argument with proof still stands: it isn't better and has not proven that a running QB is better.

Case closed.

Quit complaining against Dak. Support or you know the rest of the story...
