Mickey: Do Not Minimize Dak's Availability

"I actually was at the facility. I mean, I love it…" Tolbert said when asked how he found out about the trade. "I've known GP for a while, it adds more firepower to us, honestly that's what we need. That's going to be the fun part because you can't guard all three of us or four or five, whoever is out there."

"Having another piece to the puzzle is special, I'm ready to work, compete off of each other continue to keep growing."

With Pickens, Tolbert and CeeDee Lamb expected to lead the wide receiver room in 2025, the Cowboys will have plenty of capable receiving options on the field but only so many passes to go around. From Tolbert's perspective, they're all trying to open things up for one another.

"We all know that we have the same goal in mind, we're all just competing off of each other," Tolbert said. "Having an unselfish mindset is me running a route and opening it up for GP or CeeDee, or them doing the same for me and blocking after the catch, creating yards after catch for each other, all of that matters."

The Cowboys coaching staff wasted zero time throwing Booker into the fire, giving him a majority of the first team reps at right guard in the early portion of the teams OTA’s. Booker will be tasked with taking over the team’s starting right guard spot heading into training camp and by the looks of it, the Cowboys are ready for him to take that on.

Dak has now inherited the make or break year this season from last year's Head Coach. He better keep right on preparing and improving, now
-----------------------------------------------------

There might not be a more polarizing position in all of professional sports than the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.

For the last nine seasons, Dak Prescott has filled that position admirably, making four Pro Bowls, and throwing for over 31,000 yards and 213 touchdowns, while leading Dallas to a 76-46 record in his 122 starts.

Despite all that, the one thing Prescott has not done is break the Cowboys past the Divisional Playoff Round.

Dak Prescott 'make-or-break' year ahead for Cowboys in 2025 season

As hard as it might be to believe that Prescott could be in danger of losing his job unless Prescott can propel the Cowboys deeper in the playoffs than he has before, at a certain point, it almost becomes a guarantee.

Jerry Jones desperately wants a Super Bowl, and though he has invested $240 million over four seasons in Prescott due to his belief in the player, he has to start seeing a return for that investment at a certain point.

After all, the Cowboys roster as it is currently constructed is not built for a long championship window. They are, for all intents and purposes, in win-now mode.

And according to Daniel, the only way for Prescott to alleviate the pressure, and guarantee his future, might be to bring Dallas its first Super Bowl in 35 years.

The team added a trio, of Pickens to Tolbert and Lamb. Mix that with a pair of top speed players in Blue and Turpin.

Add in a strengthening pair of Guyton and Booker and they are fully able to create game changers with Prescott.

Cowboys news: QB Joe Milton receiving some early praise from coaching staff

Don't panic now, he has a ways to go to find a place and home.

I'm fighting no war.

What "insults"?
Pour yourself a beer and return to crying in it.

Learn English and not for complaining. The fight in football is with a football as your weapon. Quit the 30 decade calendar when evaluating results of fighting with a football weapon.

Don't then use accumulated trophies to do one's evaluation. It is football, not social merit as a fan.

Insult...go back to sleep and drink your beer. That's your filter...

The Dallas Cowboys are entering the 2025 NFL season with one of the most balanced and complete rosters in the league.

Combined with the deepest defensive line the franchise has had in over two decades, elite skill players on both sides of the ball, and the best special teams trio in the NFL, Dallas is poised to make a serious run.

Projected 2025 Team Rankings

  • Offense: Top 8
  • Defense: Top 5
  • Special Teams: No.1 Overall

Offensive Line Rebirth Sparks a Top-8 Offense

The loss of Zack Martin marks the end of an era, but the Cowboys’ offensive line will not miss a beat.

With continuity, youth, and toughness up front, the unit gives Dak Prescott the protection he needs to thrive.

Prescott, now entering his 10th season, is primed for one of his most efficient years yet.

  • CeeDee Lamb: Coming off an All-Pro season, Lamb is a near lock for the Pro Bowl once again.
  • George Pickens: The new WR2 adds size and attitude, giving Dallas a true boundary threat who’s poised for a breakout and potential Pro Bowl selection.
  • Jake Ferguson: The third-year tight end is becoming a favorite target in the red zone and should enter the Pro Bowl conversation this season.

Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer made waves during his latest press conference when he said something that lit up headlines.

“I think Dak is in the developmental phase. That sounds crazy for a guy who has played that much... but the minute these quarterbacks think they’ve figured it all out, that’s when it’s probably time for them to do something different.”

First off, that quote is being manipulated by Cowboys haters. … because that’s not what Schotty meant at all. The coach was asked about the “development” of raw second-year QB Joe Milton. And all Schottenheimer really said in his reply is that all of his QBs are “developing” on a path to get better.

But here’s another piece of the truth — and it’s the part that most people missed. Quarterback is the most cerebral position in sports. There is therefore no “finished product.”

The best in the world — from Staubach to Aikman to Brady to Manning to Mahomes — treat every offseason like a new climb. New defenses. New blitz patterns. New coverages. Why? Because the NFL is an ever-evolving pendulum where the offensive and defensive counterpunch changes every single year.

Both are correct. However, put Dak on those KC teams and neither Dak or KC has a single super bowl win.
Yeah you're insane I guarantee you put Prescott on last year's Eagles team and he comes away with a trophy you act like this isn't a team game the Kansas City Chiefs have a better defense and a better coaching staff and at one point early on they had all the talent as well and go look at Mahomes numbers the last three years they've taken a big hit he is not the same player or at least for whatever reason they took a lot of his weapons away he is not the dominating MVP he once was when he had an overabundance of talent they have made cutbacks and yes they are still good enough to get to a Super Bowl but they got absolutely dominated by the Eagles..

if you can take a player like Matthew Stafford off of a team he never could win with he goes to the Rams and he's no different than he was with the Lions he actually led the league in interceptions he threw two interceptions in the Super Bowl and they bailed him out and they still won...

That is why you call it a team game it not Patrick Mahomes by himself this is the dumbest narrative in sports is hanging a record good or bad on a quarterback and hate coach but nobody else on the team when you start talking about any players you never mention their record..

That terrible record the last 30 years is all the players all the biggest names you can think of I don't want to hear about Demarcus Ware or players wasted like Tyron Smith or Zach Martin they were part of the losses they were part of the problem the run games have been horrible and all those losses guess what they were the ones on the offensive line that created the problem they weren't blocking well they were getting dominated and that goes for every superstar we've ever had they just didn't step up in the big moments this is not a Prescott problem this is a team problem the records are teams you're arguing with people over the wrong thing when people trying to tell you it's a team sport that's what they mean when that offensive line is not blocking well and there's no run game and your receivers are not getting open or there's an overabundance of penalties like 11 on your offensive line you **** **** right it was other people's fault besides the quarterback..

Great teams like the Rams what they did for Stafford is not make him be perfect they didn't ask him to carry the team they just asked him to be himself and if something went wrong they would have his back it happened with Troy and Roger all the time you're absolutely clueless and delusion off you think at any point Troy and Roger were the best quarterbacks in the NFL at the time they were really good but they were on great teams they were part of an offense that had some of the best runners of all time some of the best offensive lines ever assembled some of the best defensive players ever assembled in some of the best coaching Staffs ever assembled you get that that's what it takes to win championships entire teams not asking anyone player to be perfect..

Yet every time we talk about the Cowboys Romo and Prescott they hang the playoff losses on them the records on them 0 well they have a losing record they what do you mean they it's not the quarterbacks it's the whole team they're all making mistakes.

Yes I think you could put Prescott on that Patrick Mahomes team and they probably at least have won Super Bowl yeah you damn right that coating staff would have made sure of it it was about the scheme the defense special teams it was a whole team effort to win those Super Bowls yeah patrick Mahomes had something to do with the dynasty maybe they don't win as many but I guarantee you Prescott could have won with the Eagles he could have won with the Rands and yes he could at least won 1 with the Kansas City Chiefs.

There's no doubt in my mind that Romo and Prescott on those championship teams on the Cowboys in the 70s and the 90s would have still won championships yup maybe you're delusional on what teams look like and who did what but I remember Tony Dorsett and Emma Smith being the heartbeats of those teams along with the defense the trenches the coaching Staffs but all you can remember is the quarterback no those quarterbacks had imperfections in all those games they were covered up just like they covered up Stafford's interceptions all year and in the Super Bowl..

How on the flip do you think Nick Foles Trent Dilpher Brad Johnson, mcmahon and all these other quarterbacks won championships how do you think that happened they're on teams that can win championships they weren't asked to do everything it only proves our point you put Prescott on those teams and they'll win 1 as well probably more than 1 because the press got better than those players I just mentioned for sure....

That's all you need to know we have proof that average or even below average quarterbacks can win on great teams the problem is when you have a great quarterback that has a below average team or at least one that doesn't show up in big games they lose just like Marino and everyone won a championship that is how it works it takes a little of both.

You can argue all you want you're not going to win there's too many examples of what a real teams look like in very average to below average quarterbacks winning I mean Eli Manning too we could point that out he may have had nice playoff runs but his teams are why they got on a run those great plays you know catching odd passes on your helmet yeah those that's what it takes it takes the whole team.

in my decade-plus covering/being around the Cowboys, this whole Dak developmental phase thing regarding brian schottenheimer’s comments today is a top-3 dumbest non-story being manufactured into something it’s not. Come on, September. Rescue us from this idiocy
