Good point. I think us playing w/out Glenn would be like NE playing w/out Welker. They definitely would not have the success they've had all year when Moss is taken away without Welker being in there.

With Glenn, we definitely stackup evenly against their O.

It's our defense that I'm worried about matching up against their O. We have to get through some tough NFC teams before we get to worry about that, however.

I agree with all of that, but one thing that is important is that Brady has a good understanding and feel for playing with Welker. That "feel" and timing is a result of training camp, pre-season, and regular season games.

Now, Romo has obviously thrown to Glenn before. However, I would expect it to take several games for Romo and Glenn to develop their timing, etc. I'm really hoping Glenn can play versus the Panthers to start working on that stuff.

I just can't wait to see what Garrett can draw up with Glenn in there. Open up that playbook!

And I know we like to use NE as a measuring stick, but Glenn as our Wes Welker? Nahhh, more like Terry Glenn as our Terry Glenn. Guy offers a lot of different things to the table. But it is true that when they shut down TO as they did yesterday (big time) we'll have a speedy receiver to make em' pay.

As long as he is back in game shape by the playoffs. I'm very happy with Crayton this year and want to re-sign him.

Anyone besides me think Jerry wishes he had not paid Glenn's roster bonus?
I questioned it at the time as well, but if you think about it, I doubt the money would have been better spent elsewhere. If Glenn can play the final two games of the season and get himself into shape, just having him as a situational player is a boon to this team.

I hope Crayton's injury doesn't linger. It might be sacriledge to say, but I'd sit Colombo, Crayton and probably Henry for the final game of the season against the Commanders, and I'd sit all the starters after halftime.

I think the Eagles exposed their weakness on Defense. Also, to beat the Pats we have to put pressure on Brady. I think we both have weakness on D at any rate.

Well, after yesterdays performance I think it is obvious than a healthy Glenn would do wonders for this offense.
I mean it was either Witten or Barber most of the day. Sure Crayton and Hurd had some well timed plays but I don't think Romo has a ton of confidence they are going to get open consistently.

After that seam pass to Crayton, I looked an my friend and we both said the same thing - if that was Glenn he's gone. Crayton's good, but Glenn's a game changer.

I still bet Terry is extra driven to get back because he sees the possibility of sticking it to Belichick after the way he handled him in 2001.

I think people forget how good Terry is sometimes. He's going to make our already-potent offense an absolute nightmare for opposing defenses.

That will be a boost if Glenn can return and play as "hoped" for, but considering how he hasn't even been on the field all year, I'll have to hold back my expectations at this point.

We forget so quickly but if you watch any of the highlights from the last couple of years it will get you excited. Glenn was the best receiver on the team.

He is a home run threat once we reach our own 40 yard line.

Our offense will equal NE IMHO. We add another 4 to 6 points a game with Glenn in the line up.

I believe Jerry is happy to wait on Glenn and hopefully he will help us with his speed in the playoffs.....I just hope he plays before the playoffs to get the feel for game speed.

I agree with Crayton.....we need to sign him....he can be our Welker
Welker is much speedier than Crayton

Assuming he gets back his pre-injury form.

Welker is speedier then Crayton but not as fast as Terry Glenn.

but Crayton is great at finding the soft-spots in zones, which is all that Welker is doing, both are pretty good after the catch, Welker w/ his speed, and Crayton w/ his athletic ability

why in such a rush to sit everyone? We are in good position to have a bye week anyway.

He can be our Wes Welker in the playoffs ;)

I was thinking that he will be killer in the slot, if he's almost back physically. It really will boost our passing game a lot.

If someone tries to do what Detroit did and completely overload on T.O., Glenn will absolutely kill them.

This is the best news we could have gotten. You know Terry desperately wants to beat the Patriots in the super bowl.

So, our empty backfield 5 WR set would look like

TO
Witten
Glenn
Crayton
and either Hurd/Austin

Not too shabby ;)

I wouldn't mind seeing that for a few plays now and then . . . . nice new wrinkle to toss in with the rest of the playbook. :D

As nice as that sounds, I'll take TO, JW, TG, PC, and MB3 for checkdowns.

With Romo throwing it, that's plain scary.

I'm glad he is coming back, but, and this is going to get my destroyed - a small part of me feels like it is almost unfair to whomever sits. We made it to the playoffs without him, now he is going to nudge back in without earning it back.

Another part of me realizes that it is Romo with the good arm, not Bledsoe with the rocket arm, throwing the ball. I wonder how his speed will be utilized now.

Begin the flame.

We should rotate, especially since Glenn is just coming back. In fact, both those empty backfield combo's sound good to me. Romo is definitely quick enough for a 5 wide set, and we should keep them guessing. Also, I want to see Romo mix it up more. To me it seems like at the beginning of the season he mixed it up well. Now, it seems one person has a big day, either Jason or TO.
