Extracted below comments from Mickey S. rather long June 17 article. Most of the article dealt with TO, Glenn, Henry, etc. but contained nothing new. However below paras provided a few tidbits of info which I thought was of much interest.

'You know, and I know, mini-camp is no different than the OTA's, but while Phillips kept talking about Sam Hurd and Miles Austin improving, and how Isaiah Stanback sparkles at times during these off-season workouts, these guys actually did in the afternoon practice. Hurd really is attacking the ball, making several clutch catches during the team portion of Tuesday's second workout. And Stanback has uncommon crossing speed on routes, catching the ball in stride and scooting even if at times he'll get lost on a deep route.
He could have included Tony Curtis in that improved receiving group, and during a no-huddle drill did see rookie Martellus Bennett making a diving touchdown catch from inside the 10.

Or maybe how the previously mentioned improved play of Tank Johnson at nose tackle some three weeks ago has now encouraged the coaching staff to give starting nose Jay Ratliff some snaps back at defensive end just to make him as versatile as possible?

Yes we are very talented. If we imrpove our mental makeup just as much, we'll win the whole thing

I think the coach keeps talking about Hurd, Austin, and Stanback because he knows one of them must step up this year and contribute. So his positive comments probably is a way of encouragement and hope to these young guys. Not sure there is anything new here.

But I would not be surprised to see Dallas bring in someone else to help the receiving corps this year. I think Glenn is all but gone, the team will watch the waiver wire, and they will also probably try to see if there is a possible trade opportunity.

The bar is set at Superbowl this year and nothing less is acceptable. Several pundits are already calling the Cowboys the best team in the NFL (above the Patriots). This team is incredibly talented and deep. Our 1st round draft picks will be 4th and 2nd string, respectively.

No excuses. It's going to be a fun year.

Maybe for you. My bar is set at simply winning a playoff game. Anything else is gravy. Every year, the expectations for this team seem to rise, but they can't even meet the minimum requirements. So once they do that, then I'll concern myself with the other stuff.

Ive been high on Sam Hurd for two seasons, I think hes been average so far, I hope he steps it up this year as well as Austin.

In this day and age, with the salary cap as it is, I'm not sure you can afford to take single steps.

I guess we disagree - if this team went 13-3 again, won the division, secured a first round bye and lost in the Championship game.. I wouldn't call it a successful season.

Someone should post a poll about this, I'd be curious to hear fan reaction.

I agree. Nothing short of a SB appearance is acceptable. There is too much talent on this team to win one playoff game and be done.

Exactamundo....this is an era when less talented teams than the 'Boys have gone from the outhouse to the penthouse the next year....no reason and no excuse for Dalllas not to win it all THIS YEAR.

Nevermind all this "let's win at least ONE playoff game this year" crap.

That may be good enough for the Vikings, Lions, 'Skins, or some other team.....but Dallas is Dallas, and it's SB or bust. :starspin

LOL @ saying that Vikings, Lions, Skins, etc are the type of franchises that "one playoff" win is a success and Dallas isn't.

When's the last time we've won a playoff game?

Like it or not, we've fallen into that category. Glorious past or not, its been over a decade since our last playoff win.

And how did Super Bowl or Bust work for us last year. We would all love to see Dallas win the Super Bowl, but it is a success, for me, for us to simply break this habit of lossing in December and January.

I don't know where all this "We SHOULD win the Superbowl" talk comes from. Hope for it, sure, but to expect it?

We could win a playoff game and still not get any farther than we got last year. Can we say 'advance to NFC Championship game' and meet in the middle?
