What does this mean? Why is everybody so happy?
Hallelujah
He was absolutely AWFUL last week (he always is but last week probably was his worst). I know that show lost thousands of listeners with no Bryan.
Noooobody but Mickey himself (@Rockport ) will tune into that new podcast he has . Poor Bill

Could Rowdy's dismissal be next? We can only hope!
Some people seem to be interpreting this as Mickey being gone, but I think they're just expanding to another show and giving Mickey lead billing on it. "Mick Shots."
It is a strange place to be. I feel similarly. Even to the point that I stopped listening to Talkin Cowboys, despite my podcast addiction. On some level Mickey has earned a level of respect, but on the other. the show was simply unbearable to me and what looks like a vast majority of listeners.
The real story here is Derek Eagleton's reaction and implementation of this new plan. For anyone looking at it from a business management or leadership perspective, this move is really something to learn from. One one side, he frees Talkin Cowboys from this mess, while at the same time showing Mickey a decent level of respect, and also placating the group of fans who actually like Mickey on a podcast. While I won't be listening to it, I hope "Mick Shots" does well enough to continue. There's an audience for that, so let those people have something to enjoy.
I'm looking forward to the re-vamped Talkin' Cowboys. Kudos to Eagleton for finding a very good answer.
Interesting...…….….there was some tension on last weeks Talking Cowboys between Mickey and the other three. They were discussing free agents and Mickey was saying stuff like "I am trying to teach you guys how the league works" and stuff like that. The other three were starting to get pissed so I wonder if any of them went to Derrick and complained.
It was clearly the last straw. No coincidence. This isn't the first time, not the second time, not the tenth time. How long ago was it when he had a public tantrum on somebody's radio program?
The beginning of the end.
It's annoying because he acts like a know it all, but all his opinions are hindsight 20/20. Cowboys could lose out on a free agent and he'll say "if hes so good why did so and so let him go", but if they sign someone decent, its "a great signing that could be just what the teams needs". He'll never go against the company line, so that's boring.
Cowboys Break is much much better because they speak their minds for the most part.
My opinion is one of 2 things happened (or both):He's a clueless company shill who pimps everything the team does as great and comes up with justifications for every move they don't make. And when things fail, there's always some reason other than the obvious.
Worse yet, he's a disrespectful jerk to everyone he deals with who has a differing opinion. Anywhere else and this behavior would have him fired years ago. It's amazing that it has been allowed to go on publicly for this long.
But no more.
That’s why I don’t like Cowboys Break they are worse than people say Mickey is. What y’all say about Mickey is how I feel about the Cowboys Break and the others. He’s speaking his mind just like they’re speaking theirs. The difference is he’s positive and their negative and they complain about this and that and they have no power to change anything. Really they’re talking out of their *****, in my opinion. I really don’t like those guys. It's annoying because he acts like a know it all, but all his opinions are hindsight 20/20. My opinion is one of 2 things happened (or both):
1) Eagleton has more free time since he is at home. So, he listened to the last show and was appalled at how much of a jerk Mickey was.
2) The new guy, Hekma Harrison, seemed real annoyed with Mickey. He is new, and maybe he doesn't just put up with Mickey like everybody else seems to. Hekma seems like an knowledgeable guy with a good personality and probably couldn't understand why they use that jerk to represent the team. Maybe he complained to management.
Who knows. Either way, Mick is now free to succeed or fail on his own.
