He’s not getting any younger.

He’s missed at least 1 game due to injury in each of the previous 3 seasons before last seasons outlier.

Now he’s apparently tearing his hamstring off the bone just doing the bare minimum in terms of running .

It wouldn’t surprise me if he never plays a full schedule again.

He has no incentive to and probably retires after this contract is up anyways.

This was another part about me hoping to move on. It’s just a recipe for disaster

You mean he isnt going to get younger after Jerry overpaid him for a second time?

This sucks!

The particular nature of the injury tells me his scrambling moving pocket days are over . A drop back pocket QB who doesn’t get rid of the ball quickly prone to sacks is what Jerry paid 60 mill per yr for .

Not in line with what the league is going towards .

9 years into the league and he plays like a 50+ year old man.

Your observation is spot on MC. I agree with everything you said.
I believe the stat for his total season rushing yards after game 7 was 24 yards for the season.....Aaron Rodgers had 44 rushing yards by comparison.

This confirms your assertion and is really damaging for a team that simultaneously can't rush the ball.

So this is going to be like our prior starting QB......breaking down?.......then we've seen this before like Andy Griffith reruns?

I'd suggest Jerry simply puts a better roster together (extremely doubtful), first & foremost. The myth that any QB in the NFL can overcome the continually drop off in talents around them, is ok simply because of money in the pockets....is absurd. And while Cooper plays, we'll see confirmation to dispel the myth. 49ers, being depleted, just showed us. We're not a serious competing NFL team, and it was that way on Game 1, just got hidden in the smoke. Too many flaws.

And all the while many will think I'm taking a jab at Tony Romo, or heaping love on Dak or doubtful of Cooper...........just watch the upcoming games with Cooper, who's left holding the bag. And to simply think money in the pocket is the fault or excuse.....you will find out Cooper is stuck in the bad situation now, just like Dak has been. And Cooper will get some grace, initially. Cooper isn't 5-1 now and our defense isn't giving up only 15 points a game, this time. Cooper is 0-0 now, let's see without the rose-colored glasses. I'm pulling for Cooper, but let's just be logical and certainly hopes Cooper doesn't start getting banged up. Blitzes be a coming. Thanks Jerry.

I hope I'm wrong.

I remember hearing he was on pace for something like 77 rushing yards for the season.

Not mobile, can't read a defense, can't progress through his reads, questionable accuracy, poor pocket presence, but "leadership" = highest paid QB in the history of the league

And the first game he ran a little he tore his hammy off the bone.

He’s toast.

When he ran he looked fine. The hammy tore when he threw the ball with a ton of torque on his upper body, which caused his lower body to twist awkwardly.

In other words— his throwing mechanics and footwork suck and directly led to his injury.

I don’t think his running had anything to do with it. But I agree that injuries are likely going to accrue due to his age, mechanics, and horrid OL play and his propensity to hold onto the ball and take hits instead of throwing the ball away.

I am not going to defend his contract, because it is indefensible, but it is too early to make any statements about injuries in his future. This was a freak injury for sure, but he is not Romo.

Dak said he felt it after a run though.

The pass afterwards was just more confirmation.
