He’s not getting any younger.

He’s missed at least 1 game due to injury in each of the previous 3 seasons before last seasons outlier.

Now he’s apparently tearing his hamstring off the bone just doing the bare minimum in terms of running .

It wouldn’t surprise me if he never plays a full schedule again.

He has no incentive to and probably retires after this contract is up anyways.
You and I have disagreed on MANY issues, but you are spot on with this. They can TECHNICALLY move on from Dak NEXT YEAR if they get creative and trade him with the Post June 1 designation and SAVE $$$ against the cap (at least according to Over the Cap's Interactive Calculator feature). THAT is why they had to realistically redo his deal - it gave them more flexibility to move on from him without killing their Cap space.

He hasn't been the same physically since his leg injury. Walks/runs like a Duck even worse that he did when he came into the league. I definitely agree he was looking stiff, old, and slow before the hamstring. Only took a couple runs and he's out for multiple games.

Is it a bit coincidental that over the past few weeks Jerry has said he doesn't want Dak running, and then when Dak makes his first big run of the season he comes up lame with a 'hamstring' injury soon afterwards?

Not to sound like I'm wearing a tin foil hat, but it makes you wonder if Jerry shut him down because he's been strongly against Dak running the ball.

Dumbest contract and timing for one in NFL history folks. The fans have to suffer with these boneheaded mistakes now….
Forget about Dak,we know that was a mistake paying him.
This is a little off topic but I just looked up the last time Dallas beat Green Bay. It was Zeek's rookie season and yes zeek had a pretty good day. Anyway, way back when Dallas drafted Duane Thomas around 1969 or 1970, they lost superbowl 5 on a bad call. Superbowl 6, they won their first superbowl. Thomas had a great day. In 1976, when Dallas drafted Tony Dorsett, they won Superbowl 12. The next year they lost superbowl 13 to Pittsburgh. Dallas drafted Emmit Smith in 1990, I believe and in 2 or 3 years , won 3 superbowls out of 4 years. I'm simply saying having a good runningback is important, at least as far as Dallas is concerned.

I have advocated for the last several years that this offense is successful when Dak is moving/running. We don't have to use designed run plays, we just need to get him out in space. And the few times he actually does run per game helps to keep the D honest. but when I saw him run last week, I was shocked. I am 51 years old and I bet my stride looks way better than his. He actually looked liked a 85 year old who hadn't run in 10 years. What happened this offseason? He's never had a really good stride but it was awful the other day.

Probably ptsd from the ankle injury. Problem with him running at all is he looks like he's wearing lead shoes. He's almost useless running now and when he does there is a high probability he gets hurt. Dak has become a very limited QB.

So he is Tony Romo after all, just does not want to be a professional golf player.

These QBs needed their legs to move only in the pocket as the arm and mentals talent were there.

Dak loves Jerry, he stared into Jerrys eyes and said pay me!
Jerry said I love you and here is the ring.

His mechanics are similar to what Tim Tebow's was...............and lets not start with his footwork.LOL

Yah… he claims to “work” on his footwork every offseason. I am not sure what he is “working” on exactly, because his mechanics are really off.

He is not a natural pocket passer at all. Not very fluid and consistent. And forget about it when he takes a snap under center and has to drop back lol…
