Alot of bitterness towards other teams for being able to accomplish what we can't.

Even if they changed the Playoff System, the Cowboys problems still would remain.

The NFL had five teams from 1978-1989.

If you have seven you have 2 vs.7 3 vs 6 and 4 vs. 5. Reseed after first round, 4 teams left.


It works.

And yeah, it's entirely possible for someone to believe in a 7 team playoffs and not having it interfere with being a Cowboys fan.

The system is fine as it is. If you want to complain about the Cowboys' futility, aim your dissatisfaction towards Jones/Phillips/Garrett/etc. There's no one or nothing to blame outside of the management and players of the Cowboys.

The reason why this year's outcomes have been so interesting and noteworthy is because this rarely happens. Last year we lost in the first round and a wild card team won the Superbowl but nothing like this has ever happened before.

This is actually a good thing: home teams usually win, as they should. We wouldn't want it to be a 50-50 thing, like it is in MLB; nor would we want it to be a lock because they wouldn't need to play the games.

This way the regular season still matters but every once in a while something crazy happens, like this year, which it makes it that much more interesting.
