Meh, he'll probably be rated #4 next week of the remaining QB's in the playoffs.

You think Sanchez will be rated higher than Romo?

Wow...that would be a serious diss.

I'd agree with that list, those guys have skins on the wall and bring it every weekend.

Brees and Rivers have skins on the wall?

Who has played better than Tony at the end of the season (when it really counts)? Other than Rivers & maybe Manning the others have stumbled their way through. This list was supposed to be who they had the most confidence in. I could care less about the list, all that matters is that the Cowboys win. The media is quick to jump on Tony & all his past "playoff" failings, but now that he's won a game and playing as well as or better than anyone, they don't want to give him any kudos. But like I said, I just want the Cowboys to win!

The playoffs are now ongoing, so the talking heads will start caring less and less about December. Playoff records are what will matter going forward. The fact is that these other players simply have more playoff skins on the wall than Romo, so they will get more benefit of the doubt regardless of what we on this board think.

Think about this stat pertaining to the players on this list. Since 2006, only Romo and Sanchez have not made it to the conference championship (and Sanchez is a rookie). Brees went in 2006, Manning in 2006 (Superbowl), Favre in 2007, Rivers in 2007, Warner in 2008 (Superbowl) and Flacco in 2008. It is a case of "Been there, done that" and Romo has never gone farther than this Divisional round.

I can almost guarantee you that if Flacco were healthy and playing like he was last year, then some of these talking heads would put him over Romo as well because they are still wondering about how good Romo can be. Do I agree with this line of thinking? Not really, but it is more comforting for these analysts to go with the players that have already proven they could move on from this round.

The good news is that it is fully in Romo's hands as to where the talking heads will "rank" him this offseason and next year.

For the record, I would have placed Romo over Favre and possibly Brees (especially given how Favre has exited the playoffs the last few times), but that is just me.

How is this disrespectful?

1. Brees - MVP runner up and Offensive player of the year Runner up.
2. Warner - Just threw one of the greatest games ever by a QB against one of the top defenses in the league this year. Won Superbowls, went to last years game. Probable HOF player.
3. Manning - MVP and a lock for first ballot HOF. Won Superbowl.
4. Favre - One of the best seasons that he, a three time MVP has ever had and a first ballot HOF player. Won superbowl
5. Rivers - Had a case for MVP this year. His team is the only one that is hotter than Dallas going into the playoffs.

So what if Romo is listed behind any of these guys right now. If Dallas wins the Superbowl, then they will rearrange it. If anyone should feel slighted, it should be Manning and Warner.

This.

Petyon Manning is the best Quarterback left in the Playoffs.

I don't think any GM in any era, past or present would take Drew Brees over Peyton Manning.

No they wouldn't. But Brees and Warner are capable of having games that Manning can't do. On average though Manning is the best QB in the league. In fact Manning is the best QB in the NFL since Johnny Unitas who I rate as the best all time even over Otto Graham.

How the BLIP is Manning 3? Thats the question.

Because Brees and Warner can get so hot you can't stop them at times. They just are the field general Manning is nor are they as consistently good as Manning.

As others have said, the top 6 are almost inter-changeable. What I want to know is how does a guy (Flacco) who goes 4-10 get ranked above ANYONE?

He is next to last and the person he is above is a rookie...not hard to figure out.:D

I really do not care. However, Brees ranked #1? Weird.

Just a note, I was listening to this and they said these ratings took into account who the QB was playing this weekend. So Brees and Warner 1 and 2 has a lot to do with the fact that Brees will be playing the Cardinal defense and Warner will be playing the Saints D. They specifically mentioned that Manning was lower because he was going against a pretty good Raven defense.

No respect (AS USUAL) for Tony. He'll show them on Sunday!!!

It was related to who they are going up against this weekend including their playoff experience. Has nothing to do with respect.

I could not care less how any quarterbacks are ranked, whether it is the regular or postseason, as long as Romo is ranked in the top 10. That nonsense about him being a mid-level or even the inference of him being a bottom third quarterback was annoyingly irrational.

Say, that reminds me... Where IS Sammy Baugh anyway

One of the mikes picked Dallas to win this week so it's not like they totally disrespected Dallas.

Where they were waaay off was where they ranked the defenses. They put us at like #5

Exactly. Colts fans have more reason to be upset at that list than Cowboys fans. Romo's where he belongs right now.

Thats fair for now given what the guys ahead of him have accomplished and such. By the end of this post season the only guy on that list that they might put above him is Peyton Manning. But Tony, and most importantly this entire team, will silence all the critiques by winning the Superbowl this year.

I love how Brees is #1 when he's 1-2 in playoff games. So Mike and Mike are saying they are more confident in a QB who's 1-2 all time in the playoffs, over Peyton Manning who's won consistently and has a Super Bowl ring? Actually, I would put Brees behind Manning, Warner, Favre AND Rivers based on what they've done in the post-season.

Again, they are taking defenses into account.

So they are taking Brees against the Cardinal D over Manning against he Raven D, which I would too.

In fact I think the Colts are going to struggle personally.

Oh, I thought they were picking based on who they trusted the most in the playoffs.

Yes, but just this weekend.

The reason Romo would be rated lower is because he has to face a Minnesota defense, whereas Brees is facing a AZ defense that's fresh off giving up 45 points.

In the end, Dallas and Minnesota wound up with the same ranking, and they then split in who they were picking. The matchup is why Dallas and Minn were low in most categories. Both teams are viewed as very evenly matched, so they don't have a lot of confidence in either team to be demonstrably better than the other.
