They forced Ditka into a decisive answer and he said that the Saints were the league's best team. Wow...I mean I know they are playing well right now but still.

With that being said, I expect a tough shootout next week.

RB is his position, RIGHT? Therefore his primary responsibility should be rushing. If not call him a wingback or something like that. Fact is that as a RB rushing has NEVER been his best area. He is not big enough or strong enough to be a regular 20+ carry guy. Bush apologists convienently forget all the predictions made about how he was going to take the NFL by storm and revolutionize it, own it, carry it in his back pocket. He has been nowhere close to doing anything like that. Gale Sayers, indeed. Have seen nothing that reminds me of Gale Sayers (and I have looked at a lot of film on him);
sure he has had a couple of plays where he did look great- out of HOW MANY?

And it would seem those that hate on him conveniently forget that prior to drafting him it was widely said that he would not be an every down back and the reason that it would work well for him in New Orleans was because they already had a RB like McCallister. It was said AT THAT TIME that the saints would use him in the passing game, special teams and also a LIMITED number of carries. That is why they said there was no problem with the saints already having McCallister.

Now with the idea that he would change the game of football I will give you that was too much hype by the league. But make no mistake there are not too many RBs in the league right now that have as many Receptions as he does and he is just a rookie.

So he has not lived up to all the hype, but at the same time those claiming they said he would be a full time rusher and not mostly a part time rusher, big in the passing game and on Special teams are forgetting many of the pre-draft and also post draft (from the saints) write ups.

Once again he was NEVER drafted to be a full time runner.

If I were ranking the top 10 as of right now, I'd go:

1. Dallas
2. Baltimore
3. San Diego
4. New England
5. Indianapolis
6. New Orleans
7. Cincinnati
8. Chicago
9. Kansas City
10. Seattle

Fixed...

Ditka may have a point. As seen over the last few years... it doesn't necessarily take the best team to make it to the big game. It's who has the best resolve on defense that makes it.

New Orleans is a good team. I wouldn't yet rank them ahead of us, given we have the same record and the fact we've had a couple of more impressive victories (in terms of opponent, like Indianapolis).

But Sunday will determine who's better.

It's like the "Dallas is going to the Super Bowl" talk that is running rampant today. Doesn't mean anything right now.

Parchy said he hated the one-game-at-a-time approach. But the injuries and overall up-and-down play in this league is why, even as a fan, I sometimes subscribe to this theory.

I gotta agree with some of the other guys on ESPN.

The Chargers are the best team I've seen this year. Thomlinson is the best player in the NFL by far. He can't be stopped.

The Saint's "resolve" does not reside with its defense.

The Saints are darn good and will be out to prove something on Sunday. This is going to be a tough game....Its gonna take mid 20-'s to 30 to win IMO.

Is Ditka still living?

Maybe they put him back in his tomb after each show, and just dress him up when its showtime.

Wow, there's a shocker. I don't know wether to crap or wind my watch.

I believe Sir Ditka is so gullible he would eat LSD on kielbase so that he could take a trip to Poland.

Ditka the draft genius gave up all the Saints draft picks so he could move up to get Ricky "Ganja" Williams. If he believes NO is the best team in the NFL then don't worry...be happy per Ricky Williams.

I could have understood if he said the Bears because of their D and ST or like JAWS said San Diego who i agree is the best team in the NFL right now. But NO  they arent better than us or San Diego or the Bears even with Grossman stinking it up

San Diego is a pretty good team but they certainly can be beat and I think the Cowboys could very well do just that...

Dude they are good, I think the Saints are the second best in the NFC.

Just stop it already, they are still the New Orleans Saints, and we are still the Dallas Cowboys. It isnt a matter of us being able to beat them, we SHOULD beat them.
