Mike Fisher on Dak helping this offense by being a runner!

It's just an added dimension. Hence my preference for cheap, young, QBs that you *can afford* to run because they don't have zillions in unrealized cap hanging over them.

Passer + Runner *you're uninhibited about running* >Passer + Runner > Passer

added dimension, it would surely help!!!!

That is wildly wrong. By a lot.

In 2023 he ran for 242 NOT 442 yards.
Obviously a typo, as he would've averaged over 8 yards/carry. The 55/4.4 per carry is correct, which is the main stat. He's running the ball at the same clip and producing similar results as in his first few seasons, though he did it without an RB and a much less skilled OL.

Dak isn't and has never been a running QB. If we're to believe announcers, the team discourages him from running often and they want him on the ground when he does take off.

No. His information is incorrect. In 2023 he only ran for 242 not 442 yards. Almost half less of what he posted.

All the doubters/critics are still right.
Yep, the total was incorrect, because that would've been over 8 yards per carry. The number of carries and the average per carry are correct, which is the main point of the post.

Try again.

Is it, though? The number of carries and average per carry are correct, as 440+ would've been an 8+ yards per carry average. The number of yards he ran for wasn't the point, but rather the number of rushes and his average per rush, which are correct.
It really wasnt

5 years ago I’d be onboard. Not sure Dak can survive another bad hit while running. Body seems to be giving out last few years. Not as bad as Romo was in his early 30’s but definitely can’t be considered a rookie workhorse anymore.

Here are Dak's rushing stats for his career (#/yards/avg, by year)

2016: 57/282/4.9
2017: 57/357/6.3
2018: 75/305/4.1
2019: 52/277/5.3
2020: 18/93/4.2
2021: 48/146/3.0
2022: 28/182/4.0
2023: 55/442/4.4
2024: 13/54/4.2

His last full year, 2023, was the fourth-best rushing year of his career, so saying 'he isn't even close' is a stretch. Also, in his three best years, he had prime Zeke and a great OL, which both pulled defenders away from him and gave him better running lanes.

Dak has never been a rushing QB unless you consider <3.5 carries/game a 'rushing QB'.

Dak's ability to rush the ball will not impact the team's success or lack thereof.
I prefer my QB's to be able to throw the ball.
