I'll be. You think he could pay someone to do that for him. Was this a publicity/charity thing?

These guys have money, but they're not above doing regular-Joe things. I live in San Antonio and it's quite common to see Tim Duncan at Barnes & Noble, CVS, Best Buy, HEB.

Pro athletes would run out of money faster than they already do if they had runners do absolutely everything for them.

So in one article Mike Fisher gives us 5 reasons why the video story had no merit and now we get a "what if" article?

What's changed?

But hey, Mike Fisher is better than Ed Werder.

Not a huge Fisher fan myself, but I agree, he's much better than Ed Werder.

Probably what's changed is what he mentioned explicitly: that the story is gathering major media attention and apparently gathering steam still.

That and most football fans just want to say hi or snap a pic.

Not like these are teenage girls camping outside for their favorite boy band member to come through.

im worried about it. So are most of you , the natural thing to do when worried is to try and joke about it. I can only hope its nothing big but , I'm preparing for something bad.

Regardless, I doubt it is anything from Walmart. They'd be in deep doo for not immediately reporting it to police.

If it were really bad, Dez would probably have paid to hush it up. Or it would have been too big to hush up and the law would be involved.

I'm expecting something really embarrassing and not fully substantiated to come out. There's got to be something there at this point, though.

Never know. Could be someone in Dez's inner circle who thought Dez's payday meant his pay as well. When that turned out not to be the case he decided to make a payday out of the video and ruin Dez's chance at a big contract at the same time.

Be a very sad situation and it would likely be presented to every rookie at the symposium about the pitfalls of carrying tag alongs.

All speculation, but could explain why it was kept under wraps.

That's exactly what I'm expecting is going on. Though it seems like Dez's camp has known about this for some time, at least. Somebody's extorting, and either it's not quite worth paying big for, or it wasn't going to stay under wraps enough for the Cowboys long term peace of mind, regardless.

Until this video appears there is really nothing to say about it. It's a waste of time to speculate what it could be.

Although once Dez tweeted his piece I immediately felt like something was going come out eventually. It wasn't exactly a tweet that denied its existence.

If the video does appear than it would mean that Ed Werder is not the slimy scum of the Earth wouldn't it?

No, he has had years of proving his slimy scumness.

Yes, Fisher is far better than Werder.

The what if article was probably done to provide some content.

Personally, I wouldn't dignify any of this until the tape actually comes out. It's sickening that the media has given this merit and even sadder that the point-man of this is Terez Owens. Of course, Mike Florio is quoted by other media members all of the time and has his own TV show and spot on NBC's Sunday Night Football, so I don't think it should be a surprise that the media relies on a rumor monger with zero credibility.

What if? I'll tell you what if. 5 minutes after it comes out, announce that Dez is signed to that 7 year deal. The "story" dies.

There are only 3 reasons why this is even a story at all. Those reasons are...

1. The

2. Dallas

3. Cowboys

If you are implying that this "rumor" was generated by the Cowboys to gain negotiation leverage, then the only way it would be effective is if there is something in the Dez's past that would be detrimental to Dez's future career in order to get Dez to sign a reduced contract based on a rumor.

Really? The existence of such a video as it has been described wouldn't give you any hesitation at all?

Also, given the Rice comparison I'm not sure it's fair to say that the team Dez plays for has anything to do with the attention it has received, nor the crap storm that will follow if the rumblings are true.
Obviously I don't think anything is going to come of this. In fact, the video was going to come out yesterday or today, and yet I have already seen that tomorrow is D-Day? How long until Friday? I knew it wasn't coming out yesterday. I'm not shocked that today is already being pushed aside for tomorrow.

One of the claims is that the Cowboys knew all about it and it is giving them pause on signing him to a long term deal right? Do you still believe they know all about it? Stephen Jones' comments aren't proof to you that someone is puffing this story up a lot?

No one with any repute has seen this, and we're worried sick about it? I hear Parcells.

"You're been sucked."
