I was watching Mike and Mike on ESPN2 this morning while getting dressed...(Man Law by the way )

He and Eric Casillas were discussing the most popular franchises in each sport, so they both decided that the Yankees in MLB, Lakers in NBA etc.... were the most popular teams. Then the discussion turned into whether or not are the Cowboys still America's Team and Golic was like no, so Eric was like how can you not say they're still the team, look at the TV ratings and game attendance... You should have seen Golic try to explain his reasoning...

As Hos loves to say.. "Embrace the hatred" :laugh2:

What would you expect him to say?

If you got your head kicked in by one team for your entire career and watched them win the championships your team never could, you'd hold a grudge too!

:laugh2:

Golic tried (real hard) to equate Packers to Cowboys in terms of popularity. :laugh2:

Golic can delude himself all he wants, but we are still America's Team and no one can deny it.

To his credit, Golic has traditionally judged their on-field potential with little Bias during the times I have listened. I can't blame him for disliking the Boys' popularity, as I'm sure it was stuck in his face many times while he was playing with the Eagles. Probably got pretty sickening after a while.

Simple question, if we aren't then who is?

They are having a Dallas Cowboys pep rally in Norfolk VA next weekend. In the heart of Commander country. Do they have Commanders pep rallys anywhere in TX or FL or CA or NY?

I have never heard of a Commanders rally in Texas. I'm not sure but I think we have laws that prevent this. :laugh2:

I think Pats and Saints have garnered lot of fans recently.

Pats because their success and Saints because of Katrina and hardships N.O. experienced. But still, they aren't as popular as Cowboys.

I'm not sure that is so much a good thing, or just f-ing ********. A bunch of grown men gathering around, getting all excited about the Cowboys? Right... Last time I heard of that, GLAAD was going to see Brokeback Mountain.

Sounds like a Deadskins fan comment....

Fair weather fans

I think we should nominate Golic for the "Just Shut Up" Award on Tuesday. :p:

I'm always fascinated when fans of the Commanders bring up that movie. Must be some kind of fascination with a movie about gay men. Correct me if I am wrong but youR most famous fans are cross dressers. Yet you focus on one movie that has nothing to do with this football team. Glass houses my man.

Its a fair comparison, atleast in the midwest and east coast.

It's hard to beat the history or legacy of the Packers.

Still, It's safe to say that the Cowboys are America's Team...The fanbase is just so widespread. You can walk into any bar in this country and have a good chance of seeing someone wearing some Cowboys stuff.
