Well, let's just say that the most famous cross dresser of all time lived and worked there and leave it at that.

You could have also mentioned the guys from Brokeback got paid a lot of money to play a part for a movie.... where the Commanders fans PAY to get into the stadium so they can wear a dress....

Daaaayum, You got knocked the F@#$ out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And you know this......................................Maaaaaannnn!

The pig noses Man you forgot the pig noses. So not only are they Bad dressing hermaphrodites but they uuuuuugly Miss piggy style hermaphrodites.

Exactly, this from a fan base of team in a city that has the 1st or 2nd highest gay population in the states. I would suspect that the skins fans/team are more susceptible to being associated with homosexuality through real life exposure than the Cowboys fans/team based on a movie that has nothing to do with the actual team.

BTW, that is one of my favorite movie lines :laugh2:

I was watching Mike and Mike on ESPN2 this morning while getting dressed...(Man Law by the way )

He and Eric Casillas were discussing the most popular franchises in each sport, so they both decided that the Yankees in MLB, Lakers in NBA etc.... were the most popular teams. Then the discussion turned into whether or not are the Cowboys still America's Team and Golic was like no, so Eric was like how can you not say they're still the team, look at the TV ratings and game attendance... You should have seen Golic try to explain his reasoning...

As Hos loves to say.. "Embrace the hatred" :laugh2:
LA Laker Fan RIght here and Cowboy Fan, Championships is all i know!

I saw Golic this morning try soooo hard to argue that the Boys aren't America's Team. While watching, I was thinking to myself. They were talking about the Red Sox as America's Team in baseball, overtaking the Yankees, yada yada. And Notre Dame in college yada yada. My thoughts....

Even those teams stole the nickname from us. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we were the FIRST America's Team. No one else, not the Yankees or Celtics or Lakers or Notre Dame were called that before the Dallas Cowboys. We are the original, all others are imitations.

We are America's team in America's sport. End of story.

Furthermore, they were Shepherds, not Cowboys. They herded sheep!

And no I didn't see the movie, nor do I plan to. I like Anne Hathaway though)

I didn't even know she was in it, that's how little I know or care about it.

So why aren't teams fighting over the other nicknames, like the "Aint's" or the "cheeseheads" or the "purple people eaters" or the "monsters of the midway"? Dallas has the best nickname and the other teams all want it. No one wants those other nicknames.

according to wikipedia:

Bob Ryan, the Vice President and editor-in-chief of NFL Films, coined this for the Cowboys in 1979. After preparing and editing the team’s 1978 season highlight film he had to come up with a title for the film.[3] He was quoted as saying:
"After the '78 season, the Cowboys had just lost a crushing Super Bowl to the Steelers. I wanted to come up with a different twist on their team highlight film. I noticed then, and had noticed earlier, that wherever the Cowboys played, you saw people in the stands with Cowboys jerseys and hats and pennants. Plus, they were always the national game on television." Drawing upon this inspiration and that of other nationally followed sports teams, such as the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in college football and the Boston Celtics in pro basketball, which Ryan said "are all America’s teams," he decided to use America’s Team as the name of the highlight film.
So I guess the only difference is that no one used "America's team" for a highlight film of the Yankees, Notre Dame, or Celtics. Hell, there probably was no highlight film at all of those teams (since I don't recall there being something similar to NFL Films for the other sports).

Well, not that there's anything wrong with it, but it seems that former Commanders are prominently featured in ESPN's "The Brief History of Gay Athletes".

David Kopay, a running back for Washington, had an affair with Jerry Smith while they were both on Commanders.

Jerry Smith, tight-end for Washington. See above.

Roy Simmons was a lineman for Washington who played on their Super Bowl team and came out in 1992. Two out of the three pro football players to come out publically were former Commanders.

Dean Slattery, a GM for the Washington Commanders, came out in 1993.

Perhaps before the Commanders fans indiscriminately throw out the "Brokeback" term they should learn their own history first. Like Hostile said, glass houses...
