I think having him around and going to the west coast Offense would work wonders for us.Now we obviously couldnt get him as OC.I like Wade on defense. But is it possible to have both of these guys and one as a coordinator?

Ordinarily, I would say "no."

But Wade is so self-effacing that I think he'd move to defensive coordinator.

Having said that, I don't think it happens.

More likely than that is that Wade really does get another year, while Holmgren sits out. If the Cowboys don't do what Jerry expects them to do, then he looks harder at Holmgren or Garrett then.

Another last gasp coach?

Why?

Can't we build something new instead of just patching things up for a few years.

Do you think any coach that would come in here as the 'new head coach' with Wade as the D Cor is worth a lick.

And why would any of the players respect Wade for taking a demotion?

Wade dropping down to the D Cor is the silliest thing I have ever heard of.

Wade got fired in Buffalo because he refused to let his special teams coach go.

He has his limits too, I don't see him taking a demotion here. For that you need to be truly ego-less.

Like Dave Campo.

If Holmgren wanted to continue coaching, he'd still be doing it in Seattle next season.

No Holmgren. The only coaches I would take right now are Cowher and Fisher and I doubt either will be available.

I'd love to get Holmgren in here. He'd do wonders for Romo.

Love Holmgren as a coach. The Dallas Cowboys running any variation of the WC offense, and a 3-4 defense is the last thing I want to see.

Atlanta sought young blood instead of a retread. They are in the playoffs.

Baltimore sought young blood instead of a retread. In the playoffs.

Washington sought young blood instead of a retread. In the playoff hunt until the last few weeks, may be back in with some luck.

Arizona sought young blood instead of a retread. In the playoffs.

Miami sought young blood instead of a retread. Could make the playoffs.

In recent years you can also look to Green Bay, Pittsburgh and Minnesota for this.

Which way are the teams that hired retreads going?

The way of the Jerry Jones' of the world. Comfortable for Jerry equals bad for Cowboys fans.

Maybe you are right. We hired a retread and we are regressing.

One word.......MikeHolmgrensucks.

Exactly.

To me the Steelers do it the right way, and have done so for quite some time.

Hire a young, successful assistant, and then get out his way for the next ten years.

Worked with Noll, Cowher and now, Tomlin.

If Wade goes, I pray that Jerry stays away from the retreads and gets a young coach that will be around for at least the next decade.

If he hires Holmgren, then we'll all be back here in the next 2-3 years playing this same game again.

Seriously... if we got Holmgren I would lose interest in watching.

For a few reasons... another coaching change, another move by Jerry... etc..

I dont care for Holmgren. Nice guy... but I dont care for him as our HC

disclaimer: I never said I would stop watching the Cowboys like some around the time we got TO and Pacman etc... :)

Yeah...I really don't understand all the fuss about Holmgren! I mean, what has he done? Nothing really...

Even if he were to come to Dallas, it would take another 2 or 3 years to get the team ready for anything, and by that time...this board would explode calling for ANOTHER coach!

However, in Jerry's mind, he is the long term answer and these so-called coaches are just assistants. Have you ever thought of that?

I definitely think Holmgren would work in Dallas.

He couldnt get ONE DIVA in Brett Favre to listen to him.... so there is no way he can handle OUR DIVA's.

We have more than one.
