Mike Jenkins is the most underrated player

If Jenkins had tackled Derek Ward, he wouldn't be underrated. In the public perception, that play wiped out everything he did last season in coverage, which was pretty good. I have no doubt that the perception of him this offseason would have been much different if he had tackled Ward.

And I don't think people should be down on Scandrick just because he had a bad game last week. They're both good young corners who should continue to improve. But they will have bad games from time to time, like any other young corner.

I agree with that 100% and have said the same thing myself.

What are your thoughts on the rotation though?

Jenkins needs to start he's been better then Scandrick so far

I like them both but I do think I would continue to start Jenkins and have Scandrick playing the slot.

Scandrick is 0-1.

But neither has won a playoff game much less a big game. So I'm going to have to call them both OVER rated.

What on earth have they done to be considered good players?

/sarcasm

After last night I don't know how you can put Scandrick back as the starter. I think Jenkins has earned it and I like Scandrick, but Scandrick is best in zone and in the slot. That is where he should be.

That is not a knock on Scandrick but if we are going to play press man coverage you have to go with Jenkins.

The most underrated player on the team is Tashard Choice.

Put on Barber's jersey on Choice during his starting stint last year and last night's game, and other than the hair - most people don't notice a difference. Choice is a hell of a back.

I dont know anybody that underrates him.

Choice is a very solid player, but I dont believe that right now he is as good as Barber or Jones, and that isnt knocking Choice. Its just the other two are exceptional.

Choice played well last night, but he had a couple of screw ups and admitted he ran into the wrong holes a couple of times, leaving yds (and IMO, at least 1 td) on the field. He also deserves some blame for the missed FG on the opening drive, he should have caught that dump off pass.

This

Start Jenkins. Leave Scandrick in the slot where he excels. I love these two guys and couldn't be happier with them both.

Now stop screwing with them, Wade.

I'm a Scandrick guy, and for me personally, nothing about Jenkins rubs me the wrong way. In fact, I like the guy a lot.

But since his surprisingly solid play in the slot last year, I have LOVED Scandrick's attitude and confidence. Not just on the field but in interviews as well. Seems like a really smart kid on top of that. You want guys like that on your football team.

That makes me root for the guy a bit harder than I would a more reserved guy like Mike Jenkins. But I was pleased with Jenkins' play last night. Great job breaking our turnover cherry with that deep ball INT.

My sentiments exactly.

Wade Phillips mentioned being surprised at how Orlando Scandrick struggled playing both outside with the base D and in the slot with the nickel against the Giants.

Playing two different positions with different requirements left Ozone thinking too much and contributed to a poor outing.

I like both our second year corners, but Mike Jenkins should be starting, IMO. He has a nose for being around the ball even if his tackling needs to improve.

Mike Jenkins is going to be a flat out stud.

I've said it, and I am not backing down.

Every young CB has growing pains.

It looked like he got caught in a bind (in zone) on the TD to the TE.

Jenkins should start, imo.

Brandon Marshall...

Put Jenkins on him and bump him.

Indeed they do. The same exact thing could be said about Scandrick.

patrick crayton is the most underrated player on the roster

Absolutely. Scandrick has skills. When the Cowboys get the Giants in the Meadowlands, they will beat them.

:hammer:
It is completely unnecessary to choose sides but this is the zone after all. It ain't fun unless we can participate in contrived controversies.

Sig update:

We'll be fine. Romo will be fine.

The Battle between #1 WRs
Roy Williams: 8 catches, 179 yards, 1 TD (3 games)
Terrell Owens: 5 catches, 98 yards, 1 TD (3 games)

What that play did was expose part of Jenkins' character.

I don't think it changed anyone's mind in regard to his potential or the athletic ability he has displayed.

Lets hope it was an aberration and not something that pops up at critical times.

Wow, one play did all of that?

Come on, you saw the play. How many times have you seen an NFL player do that? I been watching a long time and its the first I can recall something so blatantly cowardly.

And please don't say Deon Sanders did it. I never saw him jump out of the way of a ball carrier so they could score a TD.
