No Jenkins made a mistake, an idiot is someone who continues to make the mistakes over and over. Jenkins made a bad choice but has made allot more correct ones.

I thought it was the best thing I saw in the game. First of all, because it happened at a time when it had no effect on the outcome. Secondly, because Jenkins will never ever do that again, so it won't hurt us in our upcoming games.

Fortunately, that fumble wasn't a deciding factor in the game. Always be safe rather than sorry.

Never, ever lateral again, unless the Cowboys need to score on defense because the offense isn't doing anything.

I didn't like the fact that he fumbled obviously but I like that he thought to lateral it to keep the play alive. good decision but bad execution imo.

It was a pretty stupid mistake. If it cost us the game you'd call him an idiot. It was a bone head move and a bone head play.

It hasn't. We won't be talking about this play in 30 years. At times we are still talking about the Jackie Smith play. That was just a messed up sequence. First they had to burn a time out because Staubach was confused by the play call. They previously only used that play in short yardage goal line situations, but Landry called it from out further than the goal line. Then Staubach made a less than good pass and of course Smith botched it.

Staubach's pass was great. Jackie just flat out dropped it. But Roger, being the stand-up guy he is, tried to deflect blame from Smith.

I agree he made a mistake I fully agree. Randy White made a mistake once on an onside kick vs the steelers in the SB where he tried to pick it up and run. Hell of a player but made a mistake, it happens. Crazy thing when you are human you find out you are subject to making mistakes and hopefully learn from them. You might want to try being human it has draw backs but that's life. :laugh2:

Guys trying to be heroes. You admire their desire to score/win, but they have to think better than that. Thankfully, 2 things: a) it was deep in PHI territory and b) the defense stepped up and stopped them.

But, in a situation where Dallas might be a TD or less from a lead, getting the ball inside the opponents 30 is VITAL.

It's like when Ware hammered McNabb; Carpenter didn't try to pickup the ball and run with it, he fell on it and secured the ball. That should have been #1 on Jenkins' mind: secure the ball first. Newman shouldn't have been asking for it either. He should have been yelling at Jenkins to just go down.

Leon made a big bone head mistakes but I could forgive him for that. Getting popped on drugs 3 or 4 times like Lett did I had a bigger issue with since he did not seem to learn the 1st time. Guys make mistake I agree Jenkins made a bone head mistake but I'm willing to cut a guy some slack because I know all the other things he does for this defense. That is all I'm saying.

It was sooo stoopid but I have to agree the one thing this team lacked through the first part of the season and prior seasons is that killer instinct, the need to step on the opponents throat and grind the last dying gasp from them. Jenkins has the tools to be the corner that this team has so sorely missed since K. Smith, I won't say Deion because he was a hired gun, he has everything. He can be the a true shutdown corner as long as he keeps his head on his shoulders and as long as brooking is here I am sure it will or brooking may remove it.

Funny thing about this play is that my girlfriend just graduated from USF. So after the failed lateral, I looked at her and said, "Stupid Bulls."

Jenkins isn't stupid, he's just RAW. The guy wasn't even starting at the beginning of this year - hate the play not the player.

Newman is the one who should have known better. Terrance - if you want to run back a pick, go get one yourself.

You NEVER ask for that ball especially when there is contact. Jenkins knows now. Newman knew before - or he should have.

Think about it if you're Jenkins - you're in your first playoff game in your first year as a starter and the secondary veteran is asking for the ball, what do you do? I think you are inclined to accomodate the vet. He knows better now.
