Strengths:
Has very good size and bulk with long arms...A great athlete...Good timed speed and acceleration with a burst to close...Physical...Natural cover skills...Is versatile with experience at both corner and safety..Smooth with fluid hips and nice change of direction...Breaks on the ball quickly...Also offers some special teams potential.

Weaknesses:
Is not great in run support...Not overly instinctive...Pretty inconsistent...Has some character questions...Footwork and technique are shaky...Lacks superb ball skills and awareness...Toughness may be an issue...Might be a bit of a CB / S 'tweener.

Notes:
Was born in Germany...Combined with teammate Trae Williams to form one of the best corner duos in the nation...Also played safety early in his career...Suspended after being arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and obstructing or opposing an officer without violence in March of '07...Has a ton of starting experience and everything you look for physically in a pro corner...Very good prospect who has the talent to be a starter...Could get slightly overdrafted.

This is who the "On the Clock" guys have us picking in the 1st round. I don't know much about him other than what I read here.
Anyone know more about him? I know that he played on a pretty good defense but his bio doesn't excite me about him wearing a star. How you all.

Hes the most safe pick out of all the Corners in this draft imo.

I doubt very highly who ever drafts him will be disapointed with the player they get.

I didn't pick that out that cleanly but I think that is why I got a  feeling in my stomach. I'm not sold on him as a first round pick or Felix Jones for that matter. I really don't like our position this year. My real hope is that Mendenhall will slip to us and then pick a good corner with our other 1st rnd pick. And a blazing receiver in the 2nd.

"Not overly instinctive?" Uh, that's kind of important at CB. I don't care how much speed you have because if you have poor instincts you will get burned back there more often than a Malibu neighborhood during a 10 year drought.

No thanks.

is it me or did they show they same int 4 or 5 times from different angles. We're just commenting on the "expert" analysis from NFL draftcountdown.

I don't get to into the whole youtube "highlight" vids. Its not like they are coaches tape or a complete body of work. If I made one on Reeves that showed nothing but "highlights" would you still be glad he's gone? Just saying.

Well highlight packages by their nature can really skew a player's abilities unrealistically. Anyway, I don't think we will go that direction if we sign the Pacman...I can see an exception with DRC on the board but he won't be.

Those vids didn't really tell me much about him. I saw one tipped away ball, a KR (Which was nice), a good tackle, and one INT about 6 times over and over again.

The other one is just him and his DB coach talking about him. I'm not saying the kid won't be good but neither of those videos are going to help anyone make up their minds on a guy.

Don't try to decipher it. Many of these analysis of players seems all over the place. It's almost like the reviewer is hinging his bets.

It is a position of need.....and scouts say he will be a good NFL prospect.

PacMan won't be reinstated until the summer, if then. And that's after the draft. So the PacMan signing, if it comes to pass, will have nothing to do with the Cowboys' draft strategy next month.

This is a guy we should be discussing.

If DRC, McKelvin and Talib are gone, which is likely, then this guy may be sitting there as the next-rated corner.

I don't know much about him, other than the obvious red flag of his arrest and suspension.

That always bothers me ... brings back nightmares from 2000 when Jerry pulled the cornerback lever and got three lemons with rap sheets -- Larrimore, Goodrich and Edwards (OK, Edwards was not bad for a late-rounder).

I'm not surprised at the quality of that first video. I've seen Mike play a lot live and I would definitely compare him to Newman. He may go a couple games without a pick but that's because he was rarely tested. Trae Williams was the busier corner of the two.

The book on him is that he's very talented, but inconsistent. Guys like that scare me a lot.

Combine that with what Chief said, and it makes me want a solid person and heady player like Cason.

I haven't seen a lot of these guys play, but I did see Cason play. I love the guy's game and he's even better off the field.

The whole draft is a crapshoot. You're lucky if 50% of the first round picks pan out. Every player has his faults..

I think that Talib will be there at 22... I've read a coupla places that the Boys like him, too...

My hunch at the moment is, if the board broke the way the Cowboys wanted it to, their pick 22 would be Talib, their pick 28 would be Roy Williams or Anquan Boldin or Chad Johnson, and their second rounder would be Jamaal Charles... and if the trade for a veteran WR goes through, the Boys might not draft a WR at all, or if they do, it would be a late round type... the third round pick might then be spent on a good OG (Heath Benedict would be nice), or on Peyton Hillis, another player they reportedly like a lot... Hillis is one of the two top-rated FBs (the other being board favorite Owen Schmitt, who I like too), and he offers a lot; he can even be used in a one back set as the lead runner, on occasion... another possibility would be if Joe Flacco or Doug Henne slipped that far, which is unlikely... but if they did, they seem to like both of them, and the Boys could use a young quality backup for Romo, a guy who might be able to step in and play reasonably well in a pinch... so I could see them shifting gears and going that way if the opportunity presented itself...

My only other hunch is that sometime late in the draft, they'll look at one of the good, big centers that should be on the board then... they'd likely be able to take their pick from the likes of Fernando Velasco, Doug Legursky or Robbie Krutilla in the 6th or 7th round range...

It's hard to speculate about the later rounds, largely because of the hotly rumored PacMan trade... that will likely involve a 4th or 5th rounder (God, I hope the Boys wouldn't give up more than that on this gamble), who knows which?? I could also see Jerry trying to solve the backup QB problem by sending the Bucs a late round pick for Chris Simms (obviously, if he checks out physically)... they have 5 QBs on the roster right now, somehow I don't see them going to camp with that many...

It's really an interesting and nervewracking time right now, isn't it?? We all want something to happen, and there are just enough tantalizing rumors out there (not all of which thrill me) to keep us from going off the deep end...

One thing I'm more certain of now than ever before is that Darren McFadden is a dead issue... Jerry can't possibly get his veteran WR without sacrificing one of his first rond picks, and that leaves him without enough ammo to move up far enough to get D-Mac... that's OK, this Horns fan would love to see Jamaal Charles in a Cowboys uniform... he has home run ability...

It's my understanding that we can still obtain him in a trade regardless of his reinstatement status. And the timetable for that decision is more fluid that not. At least Jerry would likely be pushing for that if indeed he's seriously interested. And who knows what whispers could be heard from the NFL offices anyway...
