Of course I can claim it. Makes total sense as next two years a similar squad had at least 12 wins.
Actually it doesn't lol, that defense had Jaylon smith starting, Diggs was a rookie, there was no Parsons or Kearse. Mike Nolan was the DC, that defense was giving up 36 ppg before Dak got injured. If you don't realize one of the reasons we've been so successful these last two seasons is because the defense has made a huge jump, then you don't know football.

Also Tyron Smith only played in 4 games, we didn't have a Tyler Smith or anyone of his caliber to take over for him. Brandon Knight replaced Smith, you were calling the season over when Smith got injured in training camp, yet you expect me to believe that you think that team would've won 12 games

Just throwing this out there, since the Cowboys started 2-7 in 2020 (McCarthy's first season) their record is 28-12, including 24-9 the past two years.

Postseason success will truly define the McCarthy era since he's clearly an improvement over the Garrett regime.

For the first time since the Barry Switzer era (joke), the Cowboys have back-to-back 10 win seasons. Under Jimmy Johnson, and his successor Switzer, the Cowboys ran off 6 consecutive double digit winning seasons from 1991 - 1996. Not even the great Bill Parcells managed that, and we all know Switzer did it with the momentum built by Johnson.

I think it is high time that Mike McCarthy starts getting more respect from the Cowboys fandom, and across the NFL. His reputation took a hit because of the narcissism of Aaron Rodgers. But he has proven he's a winner in Dallas, overcoming losing his starting QB this season to give the Cowboys fans back-to-back 12 win seasons. Maybe, just maybe, we can hope that this change in culture will lead to playoff success as it did for the last team to have back-to-back 12 win seasons (1994 & 1995) Those seasons ended in the NFC Championship game against the 49ers and a Super Bowl victory over the Steelers.
Great post. Back to back 12 win seasons. McCarthy is chronically underrated and under appreciated around here. This team has a chance to make some playoff noise. They have beaten many of the top teams in the league this season. I know the last 4 games haven’t been pretty but they won them all. Personally I think this team is going to come out firing in the playoffs.

U should watch the “Deep blue” special on Switzer on YouTube….I have more respect for him now than I did before. He’s no Jimmy, and we lost out due to Jerry’s arrogance (which he unfortunately still has today…..u can win and NOT be like that ie Kraft), but Switzer was put in an impossible position, and he got a SB out of it.

One game isn't a career. Maybe you should see what the Titans are giving up on the ground and how overrated the Cowboys offensive line is.
And I am a HUGE fan of Tony Pollard. I don't pit one against the other
Yup, we don’t get much of a push in the run game, especially on the left side. It’s a combo of Zeke slower and less agile, and not so good run blocking. We need a new left guard next season, hopefully Tyler improves as well, our center is kinda meh…..we will see how it plays out in the playoffs with a line shuffle. We should pick up the center Tretter, our depth now stinks.

Not sure if the culture. O line is middle of the road but they have cut back on penalties. The defense looks gassed, is lax conditioning the problem. We have a ton of talent but we gotta get better at focusing. We play better once we get in a hole of our own making. Gotta stop that going forward.

We've had talented teams since Garrett. Getting this team to the playoffs isn't really doing much, especially in the NFC East.
Check back with me when McCarthy's coaching decisions win us a spot in the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl.

Dumb post. “They have beaten many of the top teams this season” ? They beat Minnesota, Eagles without their starting QB, and Cincy in second week when they were a hot mess. Lost to Bucs, Packers. Then they beat those powerhouses like Chicago, Detroit, Indy, Giants, Texans, Rams, Commodes, Titans with no starting QB and 4 other starters out. They lost to Jags. Yah, they beat so many top teams…lol.

I thought you said everything is Dak's fault?

Quit pouting.
Deek has an INT problem.

Deek at the Interceptions Anonymous meeting: "I'm Dak. I have great stats but lots of INTs. But the line doesn't give me enough time, some passes were deflected and some INTs were just flukes. I feel cured already ..."

Can we do something in the playoffs before praising McCarthy and Dak all the time? Geez.
