Mike McCarthy is making new playbook Dak inclusive and friendly

With Dak being given a big say about the new playbook, is that a good or bad idea?

If this is a ‘make or break’ year for head coach and quarterback? I think it’s a great thing. If they’re being held accountable for what they do and don’t accomplish, they should have complete control.

But if Prescott is going to get a huge extension no matter what? Then it’s a No for me.
Can’t be a make or break year for Dak. For the coach, sure.

If after seven seasons, the coaching staff does not have enough film or an idea on what Dak is good at and sucks at...well, don't know what to tell you. Fine that they want to run it by him, but ultimately it is their neck on the line. Dak has more security than they do. They'll get fired, and Dak will unfortunately still be here trying to figure out still what he's good at.

Better hire a shrink to get rid of those ghosts he has in his head while they're at it.

The restructure earlier this year destroyed any of those hopes. They’re on the hook for 60M for Dak next season. There is only 1 way to go from here, it’s an extension. Whether we like it or not. The FO has backed themselves into a corner w Daks contract.
They can simply ride out the current deal. $60 million for next year is doable. I’d rather take that pain than to commit $200 million for several more years to a guy I can’t win with.

60M cap hit is not doable. Yes, it’s the lesser of two evils for you. Not for the front office. They’re on record many times stating a complete rebuild is not an option. There is too much money that will be lost for tanking a season. Dak would be accounting for 25% of the cap. They wouldn’t be able to construct a competitive roster. There is less than 0 chance that happens.

What is the projected cap for 2024?

So nothing but runs and the most simple and elementary of passing plays?

I’m cool with that.

Teams win, not one person. Yes the running backs contribute to team's success too. Elementary?? Name me one Elementary school football coach who can qualify to coach in the NFL.

You're already upset at the fact that we could win without Dak having to throw 50 times a game. If Dak passed for 280 yards, 2 tds and zero ints and we won.... you would be upset.

You would be upset that we won with Dak under center and it would nullify your ability to cry and moan like a ***** after a loss and/or blame Dak for a loss whether it's his fault or not.

This is the reason you type less after we win games with Dak under center. You are one of the few weak ones here who have NEVER given Dak credit after wins, or when he has played well, yet you type on the board daily after losses and blamed EVERY loss on Dak, even if it's the kicker or defense fault we loss. Go sit your Washington Commander smellin *** down somewhere lil guy.

We will go heavy as possible with RB, TE on final roster.
Lamb and Cooks will be getting frustrated by mid-season at the latest.
Dak is gun shy, and this myth that he will somehow figure out how to read a soft zone all of a sudden at this stage in his career is a fools dream.

Watson’s cap hit in Cleveland is even OVER that amount.

It’s absolutely doable. They can rework any and every other contract that they need to.

It’s certainly preferable to throwing hundreds of millions more down the well with a quarterback you can’t win with.

But tell yourself anything else you need to. Just spare me having to read it.

Ok. You are in La la land. Not to mention SJ is already on record multiple times saying they will extend Dak. I guess he doesn’t know either. You know better than him

I’m not saying “I know” what they’re going to do.

I’m talking about what they can do.

If Dak comes up short again this year, the dumbest thing they could do would be to get in deeper and extend him.

I’m not arguing otherwise. And I’m not saying they can’t do what you are saying. They won’t. That’s all that matters.

The problem is that even if Dallas does win the Super Bowl, you'll say it was because of his supporting cast and then reiterate that they should not extend him to continue building the supporting cast. It doesn't matter how he performs to you lol
