The Defensive Scheme going forward for 2021 was established before Quinn was hired.
Quinn was available and hired and in meetings with MM and the Jones family was told what the plan was.
Looking at the players Quinn indicated he could run a scheme to match this philosophy.

You are correct it will be a combination of what he has run in the past. This is not the same as Quinn coming in with an 'open book'
Reality is the exact opposite.

Quinn had other options and the Cowboys had to convince him to sign on.

What scheme? The Cowboys FO has no defensive background and are nowhere near as involved on that side of the ball as they are on offense.

Mike McCarthy is not a defensive coach and has no defensive scheme like two other posters have told you (not sure why you’ve ignored this point as it’s the most obvious).

And the Cowboys scheme has changed multiple times in the last few years, how can there be a scheme already established when this is the third in as many years? That’s not even counting the changes Richard made on Marinelli’s scheme.

Not really getting why you think there’s some predetermined scheme Quinn is being made to run, seems like a complete out-of-left-field opinion without any real evidence.

He did have other options but the Defensive philosophy had already been decided going forward (probably at the time Nolan was fired). A commitment had been made to bigger 'longer' players that could play multiple positions along the defensive line. MM has never said the DEF is starting over and has in fact referred to the progress made at the back end of last season. Quinn has come in with a lot of say but the scheme of a multiple DEF was already there.

Your not understanding my point. Quinn has run the 4-3, 3-4 and multiple fronts as noted by previous posters. Mike McCarthy has made it quite clear he wanted to change the 'type of player' that had been drafted/signed in the past as they were smaller guys and he wanted to get bigger. This would have been explained to Quinn and he was happy to sign up. Both MM and DQ are on the same page with the same philosophy.

If it weren't for Jerry, Nolan would still be the DC.
Big Mike is going to have to win my faith back.

he was always about the process and not about the end results. That will get any coach fired. This is a results business.Nobody gives a hoot about process if the results are bad year in year out. MM better take note.

Garrett's process was "don't blame me" coaching. Eventually it caught up with him. If he put on his big boy pants and benched Dak when he was clearly unfit against Philly, he could still be the coach today. A win would have ended the regular season with a 3 game win streak, a playoff berth, and 2 large margins of victory with Dak at the helm.

It was that close to the nightmare never ending.

Shame on any fans that do not listen to this. Great stuff. Great interview. Thank you WoodysGirl.

Those that have already written off MM, you are mistaken. Rumors of his demise with the Cowboys have been greatly exaggerated.
