I wonder if Jimmy Johnson would have handled that interview the same way. Saying it's bad but we have 12 wins and we don't need style points.

It only takes 1 turnover at the worst time to send you home for the season in the playoffs. Jimmy would have lost his mind at this team telling them to stop the turnovers. We get soft coaches like McCarthy and Garrett and wonder why we haven't sniffed a Conference Championship.

Mac has his benefits
But I would prefer a hard-nose HC.

And here lies the problem with the Dallas cowboys franchise…

You CANNOT be ok with just winning. The results aren’t really what matters. It is doing something most people are incapable of these days. And that is playing to your maximum ability no matter what the situation is. Giving maximum effort regardless of any of the circumstances around you

naw pretty sure throughout history winning has always been the goal

who knows jimmy had a 12 win and 13 win season in his sb wins and mac is likely to match that jimmy also had as much talent as an nfl roster has seen

We are at 12 wins that true. But we are playing like crap and not playing playoff football.

Right now I'm not sure we will be TB. And that really pisses me off.

We did beat some of the top playoff teams this year, so we can't say we haven't beat any good teams. We just have played down to our competition a bit here in recent weeks and need to find ways of mitigating some of these chunk plays against our defense, while also establishing our running game.

Do you believe the 90s Cowboys would have had the exact same success with McCarthy or Garrett as they did Jimmy? I do not.

You can't say this team hasn't gotten all the breaks this year. We have gotten pretty lucky so far...especially the last month. Starting QBs going down...all over. Key injuries to other teams....we have been relatively injury free...
No, we’ve been far from injury free.

Well that year 2 of the 4 victories the Commanders had was against us. The very next week we lost to the Eagles on the "4th and 1 game". The week after that we barely beat a bad Giants team that had nothing to play for. Kevin Williams makes 2 great catches and we win on a last second FG. The next week on Christmas day we beat the Cardinals in the desert and then we go on to win the Super Bowl.

But that 3 game stretch of Washington (L), Philadelphia (L) and NY (W, but barely) everyone was saying Dallas was dead and couldn't compete with the Packers, Eagles and 49ers. Well we know how that ended. So point is even the dynasty teams with future HOFers lost to inferior teams and had ugly wins.

The win at Arizona gave us home field advantage throughout because SF lost to somebody (Atlanta?). I was ecstatic.
