McCarthy hasn't meet Mingo yet? I am surprised Jerry ain't send his jet to pick up Mingo and have him at the facility today.

You don't think he looked decent? How about at Mississippi?
I don’t care how he looked in college. He’s been in the NFL for 2 years and hasn’t cracked a starting lineup on one of the worst offense in football.

Stop it Rambo. Your need to defend this front office is getting to the point of you needing to seek help.

They gave up a 4th. Hopkins was a 5th. Let that sink in. Remember when they gave up a 4th for Trey? Who could that have been this past off season? You guessed it. A RB!

Let’s trade a 4 for a guy you had graded as a 3 for a player who is 2 years into his rookie contract. Not to mention a player who hasn’t lived up to his draft status.

This team is beyond stupid
all the media people and us fans think it was a waste of a round 4 pick!
Way too high for that player.
could have got him in off season cheap or for free.

Some think jones called them and offered a 4 and they said yeah lets do it !!!
No one thinks carolina asked for a 4 lol.

And the move was just to make a move, which is mainly bad cause they gave a draft pick higher than a 7th.

They had a 3rd round grade on Tolbert too, didn't they? Would anyone give us a 4 for Tolbert? anyone?

I get that they think Mingo has potential. But his NFL stats say he is not a good player right now. Why give up a 4 for what you think a player could be? Why not offer a 6 based on how he has played in the NFL so far? From all reports the Panthers, the worst team in football, we ready to part ways with him anyway. This is not a bad trade because of the player. It is a bad trade for what they gave up for him.

3rd round grade?

Based on what?

Why are they trading for players based on draft grades after the draft? Do they not employ pro scouts who can tell them this kid would be an UDFA right now?
right. and if they had a 3rd round grade on him, and 1.5 yrs of his rookie deal are gone and been highly unproductive, how does that lead them to a 4th?

He caught 43 passes as a rookie last year. Hopkins is 32. Mingo is the youngest receiver on our team. He is on a rookie deal and they have him for additional years at low cost.

Well, who better to prepare you to face a team than one Fat Mike? He does so well getting this team up for big games.

220 pound receiver fills a need for multiple years at a cheap cost. Shouldn’t you wait and see how it turns out? They still have 10 picks.
I dont care how many picks they have. I care about the QUALITY of the players they draft. And I know how it turns out. I watch football. It was a waste of a 4th rounder.

He may have been worth a 7th. Maybe.

A third round grade on Mingo, hooo boy. That guy isn't worth a fourth rounder after 1.5 pretty bad seasons later.

This shows the disconnect between the coaching staff and the front office.

Starting Cooper Rush makes no sense. The season is a lost cause. They need to let Trey Lance show he might have something, anything, that another team likes. Then the Cowboys would get a future comp pick for Lance after he leaves in free agency.

But, since MM and the coaching staff are on one year deals, they are fighting for their jobs and still trying to win games. So Cooper Rush will start. And the more the Cowboys win in a season that's already over, the higher the chances they don't get a top ten pick in 2025.

Draft grades are so close after the first round, saying they had a 3rd round grade on Mingo isn't saying much.

Some teams only have about 15 players with 1st round grades some years. That's why you always here a team saying they had like a 4th round grade on someone they took in the 7th round. The percentage points are so close.
