Okay, so this is what I've surmised. He's changing the defense (which sucked) the special teams (which sucked) and implementing his west coast offense with the one currently constructed. Smart coach. Something new for the Dallas Cowboys.

I'm fairly certain that we'll all be significantly relieved to see some hefty DTs get added to the middle of our defensive line. It's been a really long time coming but I'm encouraged by what MM and our new d-line coach may have in store. The days of our lightweight DTs could finally be at an end.

The problem with that whole scenario is Collins was BAADDDDDD at the 1T. He’s great as a gap shooter, but, even with his wife lower body, has a terrible anchor against double teams. To me, that is the #1 prerequisite for any 1T/NT - the ability to consistently hold your ground against double teams. The guy that can do that AND push the pocket is worth their weight in gold. Danny Shelton is definitely a FA they need to look at because of that ability alone.......

would love to have Danny Shelton in Dallas!

We finally hired a HC that oversees the entire team. Who hires staff to put a defense system he feels is right in place.

I want my HC involved in every decision from offense to defense to Special teams.

Its kind of insulting to say someone who studies how to beat a defense doesn't know anything about defense. Just because Garrett was probably completely hands off on the defensive decisions and clueless on defensive game plans does not mean MM does not know what he is doing.
