Mike McCarthy's asinine contract demands completely vindicate the Cowboys

MM knew exactly to the T, what he was getting into and what he was getting out of and how to do it.

JJ is not paying for something he no longer wants. That doesnt mean cheap, to many fans buy into a lot of falsehoods, but once you dont become the toy JJ likes anymore, than he doesnt want to pay. MM was no longer the favorite toy. MM knew that, needed to get out, he proved to the league what he was capable of without a HoF QB. the LEAGUE knows what Jerry is and what Jerry wants, only fans not paying attention dont know. Everyone else knows. MM can stand on his accolades he had enough to pull Dallas out of the mediocrity BUT JJ wants it back in it.

You are not fighting an emporer who set this up for over 2 decades.

Play along and get paid, get a spine and you re out.

Its over and done with, now its time to see the orders for Shot. Other than that, useless talk.

According to ESPN's Todd Archer, McCarthy wanted a five-year contract and Jones wouldn't deviate from a three-year offer.

"While no financial figures were discussed, the length of a proposed agreement was a sticking point," Archer writes. "McCarthy was seeking a five-year deal, according to multiple sources, while Jones was sticking with three."

This report fully vindicates the Cowboys' decision. It may also explain why it took a full week for the McCarthy situation to resolve itself.

How is the request for a 5 year contract "asinine" and justify anything Jerry did in the lead up?

Than Jerry should have fired him after the GB game. Keeping him in limbo all season was stupid. I don't blame MM for asking for more. I think he just wanted to get out of this circus. I wasn't happy with how the team performed in the playoffs but he did great last year with what Jerry gave him to work with. And we've downgraded at coach so don't expect the team to even do as well as MM did.

Asinine? It's asinine to call someone asinine for wanting job security.

If you want an out at three you sign the five and fire him after three. That's what normal people do.

But we're not talking normal are we? We're talking Booger-nomics where cheap is the best bang for the buck.

Exactly, and maybe front load his contract for 3 years and then make it easier to sack him after that with incentives.

Lap dogs writing a new narrative. Jerry hired a career assistant coach. The HC of the Cowboys has lost its prestige. Jerry is now trying to shine up a Campo hiring.

Here is the problem, if you knew what you were going to offer have these discussions a week earlier so you do not get your pants pulled down again. They thought their was no way Mike was gonna walk away from the best job in football. So they lost over a week and any preparation to get ready for the search of a new coach.
Poor planning once again.
Also the hire of Scotty for HC, who knows he could be a good one the problem in my mind is the way they went about the whole thing. Just dysfunction at its finest once again by this FO.

For some reason the Dallas media is putting out a lot of positive articles on the hiring of assistant coaches. I believe you hit the nail on the head.
So you would be happy if all articles were negative? Like many fans want to be regardless of what the news is.

In the end the big winner out of this is the players and fans......otherwise we both wouldn't have been able to score Schottenheimer as our new HC.

So we got that going for us.

Jerry Jones brownosers ... Dallas sports media is so soft
80% of the fans would be the same way Of tgey were in the media business in the home city of Amy team.
And 19% would not last long if they were to be the way they boast they would be. The last 1% would have a strong affiliate ties to protect them, but still would not be like you want them to be.

I do agree they are too soft. But they can’t be like ypu want them to be. They could be a bit more tough though.

Wouldn’t budge from 3 years; but gave Schottenheimer 4.
I think it is more or less standard to give a 5-year deal as a first contract for an NFL coach. McCarthy did nothing to earn another 5 years. The fact that Schottenheimer didn't get a 5-year initial contract is a little more telling.

What’s asinine about wanting security? That’s a ridiculous statement.

But hey Jerruh loves you!
I do think though what did he do to deserve or ask for a 5 year deal? His team didn't even make the playoffs and he was suppose to get a 5 year deal?

Jerry has never had a problem before firing coaches before their contract expired.
On the surface I agree, but we don't know the fine print of the contract offer, whether there could be any guarantees or what ever else involved.

“Vindicates the Cowboys”? Uhhhhh, nope. Nice try Jerry Junior. Daddy’s
calling you back home now.

Mike wanted 5 and would’ve settled on 4, just like 90% of all the other NFL coaches. If anything, this makes The Cowboys look more petty and cheap.
